Hello all... this thread is for discussing features you would like to see in cube, and in particular those that you find most urgent. If lots of people have the same urgent requests, I may give it priority to be implemented.

how did they find out that you cant play it at 1000 FPS? that must be a pretty high end machine they tested it on. I have a very good PC and i rarely break 700. and i average around 300.

lol, the highest fps i got was around 250 fps... in MY maps it's usually ~60 (heavy use of my mapmodels...) ;-)
is my machine crap? ;-)

can't you just force v sync ???? (i don't know about linux)
and how would it be possible to get 1000 fps???
i can only get < 200 with my deformed 9700.
which is the equivalent of an overclocked 9600 xt.

I\'d like to see a Counter-Strike clone for Cube engine.
I find Cube personally very well done, but I don\'t like such shoot\'n\'run games, rather tactical shooters like CS.

The gamespeed command won´t do anything bout the physics...(won´t work on servers anyways)
Jcdpc, If you used linux, you´d probably reach 1000fps...
Vsync: Of course that is an option, also on linux and I prefer vsync (no broken up frames), but some people don´t like it (they claim mouse response was better on higher fps)
The best thing would be a command to cap fps with, so everyone can decide what maximum fps they want to reach...
Maybe have a reasonable valid range for it (say 500; that might be still "reasonable" for all those fps-whores out there :)...

GameSpeed Command only works on SP/SPDM and it is in Beta stage(the gamespeed command)becouse sometimes it crashes the game even on XP(cause i use XP)

i have not read all the posts but i have a few ideas...
have a different model format.
so you can have charactors and weapons with more than 6000 triangles.
have a playlist function with music. when i put wma files in the music command it plays once and only once. maybe a loop function.
a menu outside the game. you can make all the options and selections before you go into the game.
the ambient sound idea is good.
switches that do stuff. like open doors, make a teleporter work, load a different map, ect...
and many more to come.....

Md2 supports 4096 triangles. And suggesting polycount, this is way more than enough. The rifle has the highest count of the cube weapons with 299 polygons... One could use a little more nowadays, but I doubt that 6000 is still considered "Low-Poly"..

Maybe not using wma's would be a good idea? google for oggdrop..
I think you can set most settings in autoexec.cfg
Switches do open doors, you could have teleporters that are closed off from the map, and revealed by triggers, triggers can load a diffrent map.

Great classic-style shooter!
A few opinions:
The weapons in this game are great, but bullet holes left in walls, rocket burn marks, weapon lighting, muzzle flashes, and a plasma gun would make the game more fun. An invulnerability powerup and an invisibility power-up would add to the gameplay. The circles of blood really need improvement, too.

I thaut you were gonna to upload a dumb picture like most cubeengine guys do really check out some stuff it has dumb picture and i thout you are gonna make a lazy.pic and i hate insultive stuff(pictures can also offend a pentagram for example)
