#8328: Re: creating a server on mac os x

by Titanic12ship on 06/29/2007 15:19, refers to #8313

Did you completely turn off your firewall, even on your internet router? Because that happened to me, and its the router's firewall that is not letting you create a server. It is VERY hard to fix the router to allow you to create a server.

#8329: Picky Audio Engine?

by TStraub on 06/29/2007 23:54

Hello there,

This question goes out to anyone knowlagable about the Saur Audio Engine.

Is it possible to get the game to accept BWF (Broadcast Wave Format) files? It's the only type of wav I can bounce from ProTools, and I can't seem to find any sort of converter to get the file OUT of BWF format, and back to plain windows wav.

My sample rate conversions are all in check, it just seems to be picky about this particular standard of audio

Thanks!

#8330: AssaultCube: Bots on Server

by megid on 07/01/2007 14:55

I am running AssaultCube v0.93. The singleplayer bot modus is fine; and then it seems it is not possible to have bots on a server too?

The problem is when we want a LAN game but do not have enough players, we would like to add bots. Or play as a team against a team of bots.

Does anybody know how to accomplish this, or alternatively, whether this feature is planned, or whether I can make a feature request somewhere (yes, I know, open source: no guarantees, but still)? I guess it would be useful for many people.

#8332: Bump mapping

by Scionwest on 07/01/2007 22:49

Is it possible to do bump mapping with the cube 2.0? I saw a few screenshots with it on there, but wasn't sure how it was accomplished.

How to change the color of aim? White color is bad sometimes.

Niko:
Sorry it is borked in this version but will be fixed soon.

Scionwest:
Yes Bump mapping works on world textures. Just have a look in the texture folders and map.cfgs of thaose maps that use bumpmapped textures.

Undertaker:
There is no command to do this, but you can change the colour of data/crosshair.png manually.

Your´s truly,
Donda

"It is VERY hard to fix the router to allow you to create a server."

You mean like forwarding/triggering the necessary ports (28765 - 28786) to your server?

Yes, VERY hard!!!

Don´t think that will work. How about you drop in some quick lights just to light up everything and then test-play?

How do Intels work on Linux? I heard they're crippled to only let Macs use 64MB of RAM, but does that apply to Linux?

Run it from a terminal and post the results. 'cd' to the folder Sauer's in and type "./sauerbraten_unix". Tell us what it says.

What are you talking about? If you mean Intel processors, they aren't crippled to only let Macs use 64mb of RAM, nor is that true with Linux.

If you mean Intel integrated graphics chips, I know that on Linux, they have much better open-source drivers than ATI or NVidia. However, they do have the disadvantage of sharing RAM with the rest of the computer.

I would guess that you might not have SDL, or possibly other required libraries, installed.

I didn't say I was having issues. Besides, the GMAs (GPUs) share RAM with the rest of the system on other OSes, too. I'm just saying that they can only take 64MB on OS X.
As for the better drivers, hell yeah. They work out of the box with any distro because they have completely FOSS drivers built into X. (X 7.3 will have v2.0 of these drivers, but it's not due out for a month or so.)
