#12654: a step to mmofps |

Hello! I have two questions:
1. Is it possible to make an in-game object (something like a teleport) that will connect you to a specific game server?
2. How to establish a masterserver to test this feature?

1. http://cubeengine.com/forum.php4?action=display_thread&thread_id=2214
Check the last post (#16).
2. Blood Frontier has masterserver code that you could adapt (though I don't think running a new masterserver would be necessary).

Not if your cookie is for www. and you browse with the root domain (and vice versa). Try prepending www. to it, should work :P
Yes, I realise this is stupid too.

#12659: Scripting?? |

Hi guys, for a school project i need to create something tricky on sauerbraten.
I would like that, when the player aproaches an object a text appears on screen. For example, if in the game the player aproaches a computer a sentence, and if possible various options, will be displayed for a couple of seconds on screen.
IS this possible and how, or where can i see an example, to do this?
I'm sorry for my english.
Thanks in advance!

#12661: cube 2 with live.linux-gamers dvd -- selfplay mode? |

hi there!
i've downloaded linux gamers livedvd (from http://live.linux-gamers.net/) containing cube 2 sauerbraten, and since the game is very graphic intensive i'd like to use it to test gpu/system stability in the long run on my machines. is there any way to get to an attract mode, or make the game kind of selfplaying? cursor key macros? any help is welcome =)

Cube 2 has no benchmark function, but you could probably script an infinite loop of demos.

You can try the following as an autoexec.cfg file:
http://lee.fov120.com/demo-autoexec.cfg
It runs the selected demo file (demomap) twice, from demoplayer's viewpoint, the first time just to ensure stuff is preloaded, the second time to do the actual benchmarking. You need to supply the demomap file and select an appropriate demoplayer, of course.

Look at one of the demo maps for how triggers work. Probably doordemo would be the best. (If your version doesn't have doordemo, you can get it from here: http://sauerbraten.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/sauerbraten/packages/base/ .)

im sorry if this question is very basic. i downloaded the door_demo .cfg file, .ogz file and .jpg file and copied them to the "base folder". Then i enter the game, write "/map door_demo" and i enter the map.
How do i activate the triggers? i pressed almost every key.
Sorry, and thank you in advance

About the door_demo map, from what i can tell just by looking its just triggers opening doors? no "writing sentence" on screen or anything?
Sorry for the double post

You can change what happens when you activate the trigger by editing the CFG.
(Also, you ARE in SP mode, right? Triggers don't work in any other mode.)

Well, i type "/map door_demo" on the console in the main menu, it says im in cooperative editing. How do i enter the game in SP mode? Do i have to change the files so the name appears on the map list?
