Change pistol damage from 25 to 35? Discuss.

So, people have been grumbling at me that they would like to have the pistol do more damage and be less useless.

So my proposal is this:

Increase pistol damage from 25 (4 hit kill) to 35 (3 hit kill). To compensate, players would also no longer start with 1 grenade anymore.

What I would like discussed is if you support this, or you have opposition to it. Please do not clutter this thread with other proposals or ideas, as they will be ignored. Thanks.

Or maybe (and this was already suggested):
Pistol damage ~20
Pistol speed ~125%
Pistol accuracy ~80% (And bots skill with it maybe decreased more.)

But in RE can't you hold down V or MOUSE2? Or did that change from BF? (The alien civilizations that read this in the future will wonder what the hell I'm talking about.)

I revoke my earlier comment after considering this more. Perhaps faster rate of fire would be better...

I think the pistol was originally balanced well before the release that changed movement speed. Now its harder to hit ppl b/c we all move so fast and jump more (for speed boost).

Playing water edition again really reminded me how much slower the game used to be. Easy solution, just slow the next edition down a little. O:]

And add ponies.

Yeah, but MOUSE2 is much slower, more in line with how it currently is in Sauer.

Perhaps the rate of fire could change depending on how fast the person clicked. The faster the player clicked the more inaccurate the bullets. The slower the player clicked the more accurate. If he held down the the fire button it would fire at normal rate and with normal accuracy.
Increasing the amount of damage the pistol deals would be a bit annoying and throw off gameplay.
Also, starting with one grenade is handy as well. ;)

i think it wouldnt be bad to make the pistol does 30 damage and grenade does 75 damage (when hitted directly; 75 damage, when hitted just inside radius of blast, 70 damage)

At this moment,when you spawn with another player, it takes 4 shots to kill that player or 2 shots and 1 grenade (it sometime even takes 3 shots and a grenade). Because its unprobably your hitting that player with the grenade directly, it takes more time to use 2 or even 3 shots and a grenade to kill that player, than just using 4 shots of pistol.
This makes the grenade pretty useless for receiving at respawn.
The grenade is unbalanced against other weapons anyways, like the rocketlauncher or machinegun. It has a very nice firing rate, but its far to unaccurate to deal some serious damage as a stand alone weapon (I'm taking the situation where both players arent chasing each other, but arent hiding itself either).
It would make the grenade more usefull either, because you barelly see it's getting used on efficiency matches (compared to other weapons) just because its low ammount of damage it deals.

ok, to make it more understandable:
pistol => 30 damage
grenade => 75 damage when directly hitted, 70 damage when indirectly hitted (by using the explosion)

why?
at this moment;
4 pistolshots = 100 damage
2 pistolshots + 1 grenadeshot (if hitted directly 71 damage) = 121 damage
3 pistolshots + 1 grenadeshot (if hitted indirectly 43 damage) = 118 damage.

when using 3 pistolshots and 1 grenade shot (wich is more common than directly hitted), it takes more time than just using 4 pistolshots.

after changing;
4 pistolshots = 120 damage
1 pistolshot + 1 grenadeshot (if hitted directly 75 damage) = 105 damage

for efficiency or tactics, grenades would be more "efficient" to use, because they arent like a secondary weapon anymore (because the lack of damage).

I love this idea, it reminds me of hl2, where the pistol is really accurate, till you start firing faster, but if you ask me, what I really want out of the pistol is head-shot bonus of +25 extra damage, for a total of 50, then those who are accurate, get the kills and the pistol is less useless but also harder to get the most out of.

I'm playing Sauer because it is fast action. And simple. No secondary weapons, no headshots. It works without it. Like a charm.

I second this notion. Sauer is competitive out of the box yet retains fun play regardless of skill.

Ditch the grenades( i would support removing them from the game entirely )
and up the damage, accuracy, and fire rate.
That would make many people happy, very much so

I for one do not use grenades, as they can be difficult to use. So taking away the starting one grenade or taking grenades away at all would not be a problem. But increasing the rate of fire on the pistol just seems more fair to everyone than increasing the damage.

I say, don't change it at all, it doesn't matter, both weps suck anyways, the pistol with low damage and the grenade with how hard it is to use. But still with enough skill one can pwn with it.

A better idea is just to change some of the gameplay, different gravity ideas to implement, add new modes, make things like insta pistol a mode where you only use the pistol so its less accurate and really fun, or grenade basketball or something. Don't change the starting weps since they work just fine. And I know, my ideas are really dumb, I mean really, why would we ever want to come up with something productive?
