by eihrul on 09/03/2008 01:41, 1175 messages, last message: 12/31/2023 08:39, 925248 views, last view: 05/06/2024 14:16

Please post your bug reports in here.

With your bug report, please submit the following information:

1) OS: Your operating system, i.e. Linux, Windows, or otherwise and what version you are using.

2) 3D card: The 3D card you are using. If you do not know, this is printed on the "Renderer:" line in the console when Sauerbraten starts up.

3) The edition of Sauerbraten you are using, i.e. Assassin edition, CVS as of a particular date, or otherwise.

4) Error information: If you are on Windows, a pop-up message showing filenames and line numbers should show up when Sauerbraten crashes; if possible, post a screenshot or a copy/paste of this. If on Linux, post a log of the startup info from the console, including relevant errors or any info you might have discovered. If on MacOS X, please post the crash log if applicable.

5) A description of the problem and how to reproduce it. Please give as much detail as possible on how someone can recreate the problem, in as certain terms as you can. If someone else can't reproduce the problem, it is unlikely he can fix it or tell you what is wrong.

Nope, sorry. A new config.cfg didn't change it.

It still wasn't bad at all, it needed to be purged again anyways.

I don't know, all I know is that I have had this issue in the past and it made no sense and I solved it by deleting my config file. I have since fixed it permanently by removing all importation of config.cfg from the source.

@Papriko
That's odd. You could try recompiling just in case or doing what I said above.

Hmm... Then copy the SDL framework out of justice into your SVN build?

Meanwhile I 'borrowed' the custom test build out of the sheep saver <http://www.emaculation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=7438> and it appears to make fullscreen work in Lion.

I'm finding that people are doing custom build of SDL 1.2.14 but not bumping the version number - grrrrr.

oh... but I see that that custom build of SDL fucks over the mouse in non-fullscreen.

Hmm... stay tuned.

Yeah, blame xcode 4.x too..

To make everything work with a plain svn checkout, then the solution is:
- link against 10.6 SDK, (not 10.7)
- compile with LLVM GCC 4.2, (not LLVM 3.0)

Check whether you video card supports openGL, and if it does, make sure the drivers for it are installed.

#806: Download problem.

by _Spy_Crab_ on 01/22/2012 21:25

1). Windows Vista

2). Never ran it.

3). I downloaded the Justice edition for Windows.

4). The file I download has no extension to it. (I.E. .exe, .rar. etc)

5). I downloaded the file for Windows on BitComet, and when it downloaded, the name of the file was "download", and there was no extension on it. There was no usual [Open] button on BitComet for it either.

If I could get a quick reply, I would be grateful, because this game looks great.

#811: low fps after some minutes

by blubbersprudel on 02/08/2012 09:59

Hi

I have
1.)Win XP family edition 2002 SP3
2.)NVidia GeForce 8400 GS/PCI/SSE driver 3.3.0
3.)Justice edition

after booting i start sauerbraten and everything works great for some minutes. then the performance goes dow to 7fps and the picture jumps terribly.
As long as I dont reeboot this effect stays. Even in the sauerpraten startup menue the mouse jums instead of sliding.cant be a heat problem, because when switching focus to any other application, the mouse moves ok, but as soon as the fokus returns to the sauerbraten window the mouse starts jumping again even thoug the cpu charge is very low.

Any ideas somebody?
Thx a lot.

little correction: its not sufficient to just swich off the computer and switch it on again. For sauerbraten to work properlt again i have to switch off, wait some time (20 min?) and then reeboot.
Might it bee a heat problem after all?
Is there a separate 3D chip which might overheat, so that the other programs still work fine?

thks

It may be a heat problem. I had some similar trouble when running a Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard. Sauer was extremely choppy, but everything else worked fine. I then put it on a cooling pad, Sauer worked fine after that.

Check to make sure that your computer has lots of room behind it, and is not backed up into another object. Also crack the case open and check for dust.

If you do both of these things and still have a problem, then its not a heat problem. In this case, I'd say a good place to start is checking your video drivers.

If you are running with high framerates, then try enabling vsync to artificially limit them at least to the monitor refresh rate. Running Sauer at 200 FPS can cause the GPU to heat up quiiiite a bit.
