Please post your bug reports in here.
With your bug report, please submit the following information:
1) OS: Your operating system, i.e. Linux, Windows, or otherwise and what version you are using.
2) 3D card: The 3D card you are using. If you do not know, this is printed on the "Renderer:" line in the console when Sauerbraten starts up.
3) The edition of Sauerbraten you are using, i.e. Assassin edition, CVS as of a particular date, or otherwise.
4) Error information: If you are on Windows, a pop-up message showing filenames and line numbers should show up when Sauerbraten crashes; if possible, post a screenshot or a copy/paste of this. If on Linux, post a log of the startup info from the console, including relevant errors or any info you might have discovered. If on MacOS X, please post the crash log if applicable.
5) A description of the problem and how to reproduce it. Please give as much detail as possible on how someone can recreate the problem, in as certain terms as you can. If someone else can't reproduce the problem, it is unlikely he can fix it or tell you what is wrong.

#411: temp video freezing - windows |
by atom.Man
on 11/13/2009 03:57
|
|
box: Thinkpad T60p
OS: XP 32 bit
GPU: ATI MOBILITY RADEON X1400
BIOS Date: 09/07/07
Display Drivers: ati2dvag.dll
Driver Version: 6.14.10.6677 (NGO ATI Optimized Driver 1.7.3)
Driver Date: 2007-03-03 03:53:19
Sauerbraten 2009-05-04 Trooper
Error information: after playing for a short time, sometimes several minutes, sometimes a few seconds, the video freezes for many seconds as if i were getting 1 frame/10 seconds or so. so far this seems to be repeatable. not noticing any GFX anomalies. able to toggle to console, but nothing unusual indicated.
only thing i tried so far was to disable v-sync - no joy.

Whenever I run the bat I get an error
\\\"Cube2: Sauerbraten Win32 Exception: 0xc0000005 [0x3963000]\\\"
And when I run the .exe or a shortcut with the same extension as the .bat
(-r %*)
I get another error
\\\"Can\\\'t find core textures\\\"
The game used to work for me

1) Vista 32
2) Intel 965/963 Graphics Media Accelerator (Intel)
Driver: 1.5.0 - Build 7.14.10.1295
WARNING: No framebuffer object support. (reflective water may be slow)
WARNING: No texture rectangle support. (no full screen shaders)
Rendering using the OpenGL fixed-function path.
3) trooper edition from main website
4) Cube 2: Sauerbraten Win32 Exception: 0xc0000005 [0x8]
then window closes
5) I can load menu. I click any of the modes. It goes to loading screen. Loading is done, I see a glimpse of what the game is supposed to look like, and exception window comes up.
Running as administrator doesnt help. XP compatibility doesnt. Turning off graphics settings doesnt.

This is a problem with Intel's drivers. There's not much we can do about it, unfortunately.

It's a bug in ATI's drivers. This is nothing that we can fix. You'd have to report the issue to them at ATI's website.
