I've forgotten who the real prax is. Doesn't help that he uses 1800 cookies.
Prax? WHERE ARE YOU!!

Thanks, the problem was that I had FSAA turned on which apparently conflicts with HDR.

Hrmm.. no from my understanding it doesn't.. at least for Nvidia cards. I run Sauerbraten w/2xQ AA and it runs fine with all shader settings on max. Including the bloom (which is not HDR).

Is there anyone still developing cube 1?
Cube 1 is so cool... such a shame to let it rust :(

Because, IMO, Sauerbraten is very good, but could not replace Cube.

Looks like Prax doesn't activate the Cookies, so he have to recreate an account at every time :)

#6995: Installing Linux Graphics Drivers |
by takua00108

I've looked all over the Internet, and I can't seem to figure out how to install the neccessary drivers to play Sauerbraten on my newly installed Fedora Core 6 partition.
I have an nVidia GeForce 6200, so I went to the nVidia site and downloaded the driver installation wizard thing. When I ran it, it said I can't run it in X.
After a half hour of looking, I finally figured out how to close X, and then it said I had to be root. I became root, ran it, and another error message came up, can't remember what it was exactly. I'll post it when I get home today.
Am I missing something? Is there an easier, less-brain-cell-killing method to allow me to play Sauerbraten on Linux? (I /can/ play now, but it goes under seven frames per second at minimum resolution, and everything good is disabled.)

I tried googled "+fedora +nvidia" ...
Maybe you can try http://www.fedorafaq.org/#nvidia
It pertains to Fedora5 but I guess it's still a valid walk-through.
You needn't exit X simply because an app doesn't use a graphical user interface (GUI) ... open an xterm, or switch to another console (Ctrl+Alt+[F1-F7]) ...

I\\\'ll be happy to try the tutorial you linked to, but when I downloaded the nVidia drivers from *their website,* the wizard program to install the drivers said it had to be run outside of X, meaning not in an xterm. I tried that. And when I did CTRL+ALT+F[n], X was still running, and it wouldn\'t let me use it.

Why are there a whole bunch of functions in .h files? Headers should only be for declarations, actual code should be .c or .cpp.

Well, it's been some time since I manually installed them, so sorry for misleading you. Of course - if you simply switch console the X server will still be running - so you interpreted the message correctly, I just assumed you didn't ;-) Sorry!
I looked at the rest of what google found and Fedora6 seems to come with something called "kmod-nvidia" ... try finding out more about that, most modern distros come with nvidia-packages ready-to-deploy - no need for manual installation!

That's what I've learned in both professional and hobbyist development. All major software projects (Look at Linux, X, KDE, OpenOffice...) use .h for declarations. Even library headers (take a look at the headers in the UNIX standard libraries, or DirectX, or SDL, or win32 API or whatever) contain nothing but declarations.

Hehe, modern compilers would compile anything.
rhys42, the .h files you are probably looking for are the igame.h and iengine.h. They are the ones that really are .h files ;)
The coding style in here is ... different ..., reminds me of Pascal bits. No offense :D
However, the game is excellent work ! Very enjoyable, easy editing, simply : great stuff.
Keep on good work.
