Did u README?

Use the BAT (for Win32) or bash-scripts (for linux [beautified output]).

On Win32 the BAT will simply open the stdout.txt in "write" (like notepad - just better line-break behaviour).
You need to manually scan for the last ScanLoop's output on Win32 until "Apflstrudl" get's it done with VB, as I heard he is planning *ggg*

On Linux you need to chmod +x the binaries - ZIP does not store unix perms. :(

I'm nearly finished with the first version of my program!

I can "import" the Last Scanloop and list it in a Listbox. I only have to wfinish it, make the user interface(?!?) and write a readme file :)

It works :)

I only need the servermonitor for the newest release from Meatpak then it also works with the newest version :)

#6233: SegFault - some maps on Sauerbraten

by flatwombat on 08/17/2006 03:26

I'm running an Asus K8V-MX mobo (in 32 bit) with 512meg DDR, a Semperon 2600 chip and an older Nvidia Geforce4 MX-420 graphics card. OS is FC-5 and Ubuntu 6.06.

While CUBE has never had a single problem, Sauerbraten has many maps that will cause a segfault. Here\\\\\\\'s the responses, first from a segfault and then from a similar map that runs perfectly:

[bob@localhost sauerbraten]$ ./sauerbraten_unix

init: enet
init: video: sdl
init: video: mode

game mode is ffa/default
read map packages/base/oasis.ogz (0.1 seconds)

Segmentation fault
[bob@localhost sauerbraten]$ ./sauerbraten_unix

Just wondering if anyone can give me a clue about the underlying cause? All the libs and updates are current for both OS\\\\\\\'s and failures occur at the same points with both.

Thanks, in advance.

if you can run it under gdb in debug mode that would be most helpful... so we can a stack trace.

Little hint though: 9 out of 10 sauerbraten crashes are OpenGL driver related.

1. open your config.cfg and change it there.
2. "load map" or "singleplayer"
3. Press E
4. no idea
5. "n00b" means newbie, not very polite of those people.
6. Yes those are real people.
7. When they fly around, they are in "coop-edit" mode. They build a map together. The mode is not about shooting.

There is a file called readme.html in your folder.

"people keep calling me a "fucking n00b" and go away before this happens, but i havent done anything wrong!"

If you are accusing them of being bots, cheating, or repeatedly asking basic questions, I am not entirely surprised.

Everyone online is a real person somewhere, probably anywhere in the world (thanks to Sauerbraten's netcode). Definently no bots in multiplayer. And like makkE said, read the file called readme.html (the name of the file is self-explanatory). Check out the mapping tutorial, and after youve made a couple of maps, and youve made a nice decent one, upload it to www.quadropolis.us and people can comment on it :)

Would you please stop using that term, actually that is percieved as an insult.
Those people are newbies.
And you once were too.

So either answer them or don´t post. Your constant rtfm for everyone is going on my nerves.

Prax, you´re being totally unrealistic.
And if you don´t want people to mess your maps up, simply don´t do public coop-edit, but don´t kick and swear them. That´s pretty lame, and might putt off a lot of people from even trying this a second time. Thanks a lot.

he has a point. newbies (and non-newbies hu just wanna mess up peoples maps) often deliberately or accedentally destroy your map....

when someone gets kicked, maybe the console should say "please read the manual before plaing again" or something similiar... a FAW on the site would be nice also

*FAQ

yes makkE, but private mode will stop everyone from joining the server, if they dont have an easy way of contacting yuo they could get annoyed that they cant come and help...

however, the mode where you are set to spectator if you join the server is a nice solution for the moment...

#6245: coopedit

by Pxtl on 08/17/2006 17:26

Personally, I find coopedit irritating. Most of the time the lowest-ping servers are being squatted on by 2-3 players in coopedit with private-mode on. Sometimes a coopeditor will be in an exciting 12-player game and then say "now's a good time to show off my coopediting skills" and get the game into coopedit mode for the next game... which ruins the DM most people are here to playe for.

So remember - just because you coopeditors are irritated by DM players coming in and ruining your coopedit session (usually, if I find a DM game that has been converted into a coopedit match, I'll wipe half the map so I can get people to vote for a new mode), the reverse is also true.
