#15378: Editing footstep audio playback speed |
by The_Audio_Beast

Hi everyone, first post here.
I am currently redoing all the sounds in Wwise for Cube. I keep running into a problem where the audio from the player footsteps are being triggered way to fast. I really want to find a way to edit how fast or slow the game call is talking to wwise, a natural sounding footstep sequence would be ideal.
Thank you
-Jeff

@spidermonkey
My guess is your calling a function that cube 2 doesnt support (there are alot sadly) I would break your code down in smaller bits see what happens.
Are you running into a console error or are you just not getting nothing?
Where in the glsl/cubescript code are you putting this?
cuz all glsl code needs to be wrapped inside of cubescript.

Ooohh, now I see. In that case I'd either suggest looking in the sound config or, when it isn't there, it is probably hardcoded and you need to change a value in the source.

There's a couple ways you can implement a footstep sound. You can do it through CubeScript or source. In your case of the sound playing way too fast, I'm guessing the sound is being triggered every iteration of some game update loop. Is your sound file a single footstep, or is it a series of footstep sounds meant to be looped?

Oh I forgot to ask, are you using the Wwise sound editor, or the whole sound engine?

#15388: XCode fixes for SVN |

Dunno why but I ended up fixing the XCode project in SVN. Well, in fact I committed it on Github: https://github.com/piernov/sauerbraten/commits/fix/xcode-build
Last commit, no direct link since it's a huge one: mainly the 3 SDL frameworks updated.
Now you'll be able to build and play Sauerbraten SVN on Mac OS X (tested on 10.11.5 with Xcode 7.3).

Hey all,
I'm running a server and get a message that it can't ping the master. But I can ping sauerbraten.org manually and it works. The default server listening port is open. What is wrong here? Thanks!

Hi, Try disabling shaders. This is a common problem and usually disabling shaders fixes it.

#15395: Sauerbraten server wouldn't read configs. |

Hi, I recently set up a sauerbraten server on my Ubuntu Server 16.04 LTS machine and my serverbraten-server absolutely doesn't wants to read my server-init.cfg. Wether I place it in my ~/.config/sauerbraten, ~/.sauerbraten or even the /usr/games folder, it exactly changes nothing. I seem to be the only one on the whole internet with this problem, whyyyy! :D
Would please me if anybody would answer, until now, nobody had a clue about this.
Greets, Nik.

I got a new mouse that has a couple extra buttons I wanted to make one of them zoom but sauerbraten isn't detecting MOUSE10. I tried editing the config file and it can't find the key or unknown key.
Is this a bug? How do I get MOUSE10 working

How come the zombie server "Infected" is permanently being hacked/trolled? Team efficiency against zombies is a really cool game play and one of the few games that can be fun when no-one is playing on this side of the world in my time zone down under.
The hacker/admin changes names often but is currently using fragginfucker's name.
Fair enough if someone wants to troll their own server, but I would hope that someone would start another effic team zombie game so we can still play.
