Dissapointed

Today, and almost all of last night I have not been able to play a single game without a cheater joining the room. Now now, before you say that im just a noob that doesnt know backwards and forwards. There were atleast 10 other guys that have seen him, and have called him a cheater. He seems to have speed hacks/and can shoot rounds rapidly and so forth.

His name is THE PWNER/ PWNER.

I just hope know one else will catch a breeze from his hacks.

quit giving them attention - that's what keeps them afloat.

Just quit the server if you guess someone isn't playing fairly, become MASTER and kick them if they follow you.

Actually I have been waiting for a little while , and he'd come back. Obviously he is trying to monopolize Rondom.org and not let anyone else be the master. He also has +1900 again despite having disconnected...

Isn't there a server admin with at least some control ? The annoying thing is not to have cheaters around , but to have them be able to stay around forever with impunity.

Please don´t even mention those guys. they want attention, and they don´t care if it´s all negative. don´t feed em by posting their names, that´s already their best moment of fame. Just keep cool and ignore em.

Don't even go like 'WTF' ingame. Just quit.

On that note, can we have maybe a team chat or 'whisper' like chat function in Warcraft III, where you only talk to one player? This would mean that you could tell others which server you were going to etc. and leave the cheater by themselves, without even 'WTF'. All they will see is everyone disconnecting.

Rather than make it harder, maybe make it easier by adding cheat options into the menu/console. That would encourage honour, and multiplayer games with people we know and trust :-)
- or is that a tad to idealistic maybe?

Far to idealistic.

@admin: Sorry for the public link. Please remove, there are already enough cheaters out there.

bye

I've always figured that would be the best way to go - something massively obvious. A "killall" command that includes what happened in console. "Jim gave everybody an aneurism".

Then there's no reason to code complex cheats. It's right there in the console. Just type /killall. And we can kick you then. Nothing subtle like giving yourself health or anything.

I like that idea, that would completely kill cheating, but, some cheaters might just write their own because they don't like the default ones.

So instead you have n00bs cheating as well, because they found the killall command. (sorry for double post, forgot about this point.)

That's an interesting social experiement right there. It's kind of like mutually assured destruction. The only problem is that the losses are too asymetrical. Someone about to leave the server has little to lose.

Hadn't thought of that - a guy might just killall on his way out of the server just for giggles. I was only half-serious when I suggested it.

Thinking it over, people would probably hack the game anyways. The drawbacks of killall are kinda obvious.

The Problem I get is that there are like, two servers my computer picks up that aren't playing coop-edit, so if people are cheating, most of the time I have to deal with it or stop playing. No fun :(

Hackers suck in skill. They can never beat an average FPS player like you or me. They keep saying "Oh! But I am better then you in every way! I can beat your sorry ass in any game you little bitch!" But yet if you do play him and the little cheat can't hack then you beat the living shit out of the turd and show him how a REAL FPS player does the game.

Hey. Let's choose a word other than hacker, ok? Some of us have a different definition of it than you, and may come to regard you as uneducated, opinionated, and overzealous. Before you decide to spout self-righteous quotes which try to impose an entire set of projected inadequacies.

I always shrugged at people who cheat. Makes absolutely no difference to me, doesn't ruin my day or devastate my belief in the goodness of mankind. I have better things to waste my breathe on, so my silence can speak my utter apathy while I'm playing. Discussion of cheating is best left beside the LAN router while I'm packing up my power cables. If it goes farther- well, I'm wasting my time as is.

Uneducated, opinionated, and overzealous? Ok mister scholar, have any other enlightening remarks for my joyful spout? I don't care if you think I am uneducated, opinionated, and overzealous. My point is I hate hackers as much as the next gamer. Everybody plays online games to play fairly and have fun in the process. Just because I don't use Dictionary words my friend doesn't make me uneducated, opinionated, and overzealous. So before you go judging somebody just because they've made a home made quote, remember that nobody cares what Educated Remarks you make.

From wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hacker_definition_controversy ) :

Currently, \"hacker\" is used in two main ways, one pejorative and one complimentary. In popular usage and in the media, it generally describes computer intruders or criminals. In the computing community, it describes a particularly brilliant programmer or technical expert (For example, \"Linus Torvalds, the creator of Linux, is considered by some to be a genius \'hacker\'.\"). The latter is said by some to be the \"correct\" usage of the word (see the Jargon File definition below).
