The game runs slow on my computer, it says that the FPS is low and the game is choppy but my cpu usage is only around 25 percent. does the cpu usage even matter for this?

No, CPU usage does not matter.

25% CPU usage is huge for Sauerbraten, you most definently have an extremely old computer.

"Anyway I got my answer (in a rude way), I got the error because my computer was old...thats all you guys had to say."

Consider in future the README (http://sauerbraten.org/README.html), and moreso, the wiki (http://cube.wikispaces.com/), both of which are included in the distribution package. Some of us do get tired answering the same 'n00b' questions over and over, epsecially when it's been well documented, or even discussed to death on this very forum (read: use the SEARCH feature).

Surely saying "your graphics card's not up to it" would have been enough?

I understand that answering n00bs' questions is frustrating, but not answering this thread is a good way out of that, surely?

exactly;
just don't answer their questions.

btw, the link to docs and wiki should be made fully clear rather than going to the docs and looking with "wiki".

"I understand that answering n00bs' questions is frustrating, but not answering this thread is a good way out of that, surely?"

Just like not asking the same old tired questions that have been asked a million times and sometimes often covered in the manual will ensure you don't get flamed?

I don't mean to be rude, but we all sift through this forum on a regular basis. It'd be nice if people just followed some basic netiquette. That applies to the flamers, as well as the n00bs too.

"btw, the link to docs and wiki should be made fully clear rather than going to the docs and looking with "wiki""

Elaborate a bit more and I'll see what I can do about making the changes by next release. User input and suggestions are required here as I, myself, have no problem navigating the documentation.

As for the wiki itself, everyone has the opportunity to contribute there, it's designed as a one-stop-shop for collected information, rather than everyone going about on their own things.

put a big fat red link on the forum, this is where people ask first.

In the wiki, I suggest to put links of the most common problems on the frontpage - so they wouldn't have to look for information.

But why are people tired of answering newb questions? I guess that not answering them at all (and maybe giving them "RTFM!") is the best solution?

I've cleaned up the Wiki frontpage and elaborated the Help section. I'll look at doing the same in the next few days to the static docs so that new people can get to the information they need most.

Uh, yeah...has Cube2 progressed past the 'play online as a fat midget with 3 different gun types' phase of content? Or are we still waiting for extra multiplayer models?
I'll download the game, but I don't want to waste any more time downloading if it hasn't.

Well, I\'m so sorry the people giving you a free game aren\'t doing it in a timely manner...lets all put them down on the forum. Maybe that will make them extra happy to work for free, for people that don\'t appreciate it.

Oh btw, cube2 ( aka Sauerbraten ) DOES have more than just plain old DM, but you\'ll still have to play as the \"fat midget\".

Sorry...I didn't mean to make that offensive.
I'm very impressed with the pacing and general functionality of Cube 2, I'm just sad to see the lack of content.

Maybe you should add content, if there is such lack?
The game is still in beta, and has around 50,000 downloads since gui release - which is not big in comparison with commercial popular games which are simply based on many more people.

Media is always the one to come later, isn't it?

Howdi from a n00b 2 Cube (Sauerbraten)...
I enjoy the single player mode but have not been able to determine (and yes, I RTFM) if there\'s a way to restart a game from the last point I accomplished...The nature of my employment necessitates I quit the game to do other things and I dislike having to restart the level each time I begin again...

Have I missed something or is restarting from the beginning each time a necessity?

There is no savegame function.

All that's given are respawn-points, these work like "secondary" playerstarts in case you die and have previously set a respawn-point - but only for the current run of the map.
