Will everybody or you stop using/playing cube or stop playing on network i dont like that


here's the differences:

Cube:This game is not RPG it's just an FPS just like Quake/Doom.

SauerBraten:This is an RPG not just FPS you got to search for Quests and so-so alot like Grandia but in First-Person.


Oh i forgot if sauerbraten releases i hope Cube will still be updated not be forgoten forever.

Reason:There are no easter-eggs theres nothing but just aim and shoot its always the same and it bores after a while and i am against ID-Software so i hated Doom III and thanks God Half-Life is great especially the second half-life but anyway in cube there are no fire effects models cant be animated(only entitie's can)there are no-vecicles and just 4 weapons it will get boring also no rain or snow bah it bores me one day it is true that it is the best free FPS engine but it will bore you too soon always the same *SIGH* oh and max payne 2 was interesting as it was a roman story game you play N see the movie at the same time same as spidermen 2 from a movie to a game and max payne 2 was a movie i suppose and it is forgotten.

Btw everyone knows that DOOM is better than Half-Life :) Haven't seen Spiderman 2 yet.

I know I hate to be a grammar nazi, but please use punctuation. That whole thing was one long sentance and I just can't read that and make heads or tails of it.

And yes, to be blunt, Cube does get boring for me too - it is a very simple game. But that's what it was intended to be. And Half-life wasn't good for the gameplay, which was generic and nothing special (I found Doom more *fun*) it was the immersion and storyline that made it.

Cube dosn't have snow and rain because they are just eyecandycrap! 4 weapons is plenty, we don't need fire effects, and the players are an animated model right? perhaps I mis-understood that bit tho...

I can play doom, quake, wolfenstein 3D and all the old games without wishing they were ut2k4, if you want ut2k4, go play it, thats what i do when i want vehicles, snow, rain and eyecandy.
For a one man show, cube is bloody astonishing... yeah :-)

oh and ard, the idea of an rpfps (role playing first person shooter) really apeals to me, i loove free roaming and video game violence.

No thats Quake 3 Arena i played the demo and i loved exploding the challenger's as blood comes out of them and it is more violant then Cube please Aard in SauerBraten/Cube next release make more bloody stuff and the chainsaw(maybe?)

anyway Object Models which are not player example vents are not animated or you cant make man animate as a model not entity which makes no sense, but it is possible to make animated objects in cube tell me.

IIRC that's already in the TODO file.

About the chainsaw, it'd be trivial to code one, but why would you need more than one melee weapon?

Yes, more blood. It's fun to make a big mess when killing bad guys. I enjoy seeing blood squirt out of the bad guys.
If anyone still plays quake2 check out the engine modification "quake2max", real bloody with "adjustable" gore settings.

I've seen enough of that in other games so I vote for the more clean, you know, kinda clinical feel which is one of the good things of present Cube.

Idunno, I think it'd be nice to have an interesting looking melee weapon instead of the fist. Personally, I'd have it be a big mining drill, instead of a chainsaw, just to be different.

How about making exploding projectiles when the projectile of explosion explodes on whoever demon(usually small ones)it explodes him and maximum blood comes out of him especially with the Quad good idea isnt it :) oh and change the blood particles too red splats for more violance kinda like Postal 2.

The quad idea is here from a long time - the number of blood particles increases with damage taken. The code for this is in weapon.cpp, look for "qdam".

@sinsky: that's the reason for the "nogore" option. Adjust to your preference :)

(if you really want a bit of blood but not too much it could take different values like 0=no blood, 1=as it's now, 2=much blood, 3=i really like my screen painted red)

mmmm, mining drill...
Perhaps something blunt? Like a non-volatile psychic adjustment device (sledge hammer)? The chainsaw is the only tool used in games afaik, except for the shovel in postal2.. so a good origional melee weapon.. yeah. Something electrified would be fun, sort of throws the victim back a bit, darkens screen for a while? (like the red tint you normally get.. but black and a bit longer.)

Hmm I thought nogore was something specifically designed for the German market (as commented in the code), and not my business at all so I stayed away from it :)

Btw it's bool in Cube 2003 and in 2004 after a quick search in all files for "nogore" couldn't find it... perhaps you were referring to some other variable?
