i have been thinking about making a nice mod/total conversion for Quad to take advantage of the neat features it has.

1.pushplay is this ok with you?

2.does anyone else have any objections or comments?.

Download quad here

Quad is basically more multiplayer modes for cube. if you want more maps for cube go look on mappers sites. I have a complete (i think) list on my site.

I gave up on the new version of enet, it was too much work. Once I get some testing of Quad and don't find any bugs I'll release it. That could be today. At that point I'll just stop working on it. I started it primarily to learn about how Cube was built, and I learned a lot from it.

staffy: if you're playing with the code it's simple. Create a command lets you add to a vector of text, sound file pairs. Then in the function associated with the command say, just toss in a general pattern matcher that looks through the speech text for each string in the vector and plays the associated soundfile if found. Without code, it ain't happening.

you put funny eyes on the yucky brown hellpig skin. Anyway it's good, you could use more maps though. and you made the icons really ugly. the color change is fine, but use a little less of the "emboss" effect next time.

i am fairly sure there are no bugs in it except that in some levels the rockets don't explode straight away when they hit a wall. I didn't try quad on multiplayer though.

i might wait untill i really need a new computer.

If that was in rocket bounce then that's ok.

in ffa, it was like what used to happen in the old version of cube but it is only a one or 2 second delay.

You can probably get a better computer for less if you go with AMD instead of Intel. Pentium processors are overpriced MAJORLY.

Now... this reminds me of a question which bugged me for quite some time. Is Cube 64-bit ready? Anyone tried compiling it on AMD64?

I'd have to check. If there are any incompatabilities, they will be 5 minute fixes... I doubt there are any.
