mod for quad

i have been thinking about making a nice mod/total conversion for Quad to take advantage of the neat features it has.

1.pushplay is this ok with you?

2.does anyone else have any objections or comments?.

this is what i am thinking of including:
30 new dm maps
10 new sp maps
new models
new music and sound fx
new configs and readmes
some new skyboxes, textures

and whatever else i can find.

btw does anyone have any good model replacements for the weapons, carrot, quad,teleport (and the tree if possible)

and is it just me or do i sound like a very strange person? (you beter not answer that)

BTW, is the recent version of Quad based on the latest Cube sources? Or still on the old Cube-2002?

Feel free to use Quad as a base on your own work. It's under the same license as Cube.

I can make an effort for ya and make sure all the bugs are out in a couple days and then release it. The source is based on the 2002 version, but includes a bunch of features from 2003. The beta comes with my design document which lists the changes in full.

dcp i was planning on using all of the item models, skyboxes, music and the "a room in chinatown" textures from your website in the mod.

you can use all the things EXCEPT the music.

i'm not sure what i'll do with these tracks in the future. but they aren't meant to be included in any distribution... sorry for that.

if you have any questions about placing/aligning the chinatown textures, i'm here... :-)

I tried to move Quad over to the new enet and now it crashes whenever you connect to a server. I moved from enet_time_get_sec() to time(NULL). Before I look through the difference in all calls related to enet to see what I need to change, can anyone think of any hints to give me?

ok i need a rocket launcher, a new shotgun and a carrot replacement. does anyone have any of these?

does anyone have any good realistic wall and roof textures?

are there any good music and or sound effects i can use?

i need some help with scripting.

i created a function so that when the user types ~1 a sound is played.

how can i get a script that uses the 1 function when the user types "say 1".

or in even more complicated terms
how can i get this:

when "say staffy" then use function "staffy"

function "staffy" = play sound staffy

i don't think my "mod" is really going to work out but here is a kind of test version. it is 9 mb although the one on my computer is 30 mb.

it works okay. just I get a lot of unable to load sound/can't find texture/song
type stuff. Really confusing mod. you switched all the models around. The bull is pretty funny though.
