Hi, there!
I have started making mixed-styled city map and creating a new thread here. I'm working on it for about a month and almost made a small part of it.
The target is to create large(st?), detailed and excellent-looking city in cube2 using intensive method - create a thing and detail it at the same moment (unlike extensive - create a lot of stuff first, then detail it - that many mappers use for creating large maps).
Here will be screenshots, changelogs and other stuff

well i will be excited to see, and hopfully i can get some input from you on my map as it progresses.
i will often stall and get bored. but i know that this map i am working on now is something i will finish....just a matter of when.
hopefully red's NYC wasn't abandoned. by the screenshots, i couldnt imagine something like that you would have to put so much time and effort in for. but its SOO big, perhaps thats the problem

Hey, are you still working on it? You haven't commented here since... 06-28-09. That was roughly 5 and a half months. I'd hate to see another awesome urban map go to waste...

#1 reason not to be excited by vapourware. Provide a downloadable demo/concept, or don't waste our time!

Yeah, I can't help but wish these people would provide a few alpha releases or something -- that way when they "vaporwarized" the project, someone could still TRY. I guess it just doesn't work that way.

i think jcity is not gonna get finished nor will we get a response.
my map hasn't been touched probably since i last posted until recently. the end of the year was crazy busy and i havent even had time to sit down and work on it.... plus i was thinking of going in a different direction, but with some time away from it, i feel a little more motivated to work on it now that i have some free time and have not worked on it. i would post picts, but there is no dazzling texturing or lighting what so ever.... i haven't worked that in depth with texturing yet either, so i will need to do a little homework.
when i post the pics, i will do so as a new thread.
i may look for assistance further down the road.

If you want to try the map, I believe post #7 contains a link to a page with the map download.

Okay, so here's an urban project that might actually come to fruition! The map *does* look smaller, but if that means better gameplay -- or perhaps even a Lost-esque achievement -- go for it.

Do the trains move? ^.^
It could be done by a platform model, but I'm not sure if you could have a more complex collision box (to allow players to ride it).

Well, I thought about it. It could be done only if sauer would support non-straight trajectories, because rails are not straight. Also it might require support for scripting mapmodels and combining them with particles, e.g. for attaching sound of opening and closing doors to the train mapmodel.
Until that done, trains could be only static.

Thanks for posting that! Would you mind re-compressing as ZIP, though? I think it would make it more convenient and accessible.
