Most Wanted Feature

Hello all... this thread is for discussing features you would like to see in cube, and in particular those that you find most urgent. If lots of people have the same urgent requests, I may give it priority to be implemented.

That's a problem I never thought of..
Maybe the mapper could restrict how many teams there can be. But that's probably to much restrictions for aardappel and eihrul.

well, I'm not sure if this is the correct way to do it - but try selecting one entity - then point at another one :
type "/enttoggle 1" and it's selected too ... if you've done
bind M history
then you can simply point at further ents, press M and end up with a whole group selected.

yes i'd also like to see this, but afaik it doesn't work because:

• SDL doesn't let us do Command-Tab when fullscreen
• switching to windowed mode doesn't work because broken SDL insists on reloading all resources, and we don't support that for bloat-reasons

Easiest way was to only spawn at spawnpoints your team owns. If your team has no flags, you cant spawn, which is bad for you but not necessarily for the gameplay. =)

The "R" option is useless, I run around with only the pistol ammo left and scream "press R", but nothing happens. It was worth a try but IMHO it doesn't work, ammo crates FTW!

People don't read manuals, especially not for games.

R should be automatic - just touch a teammate and the message of rearming happens. That would be instantly obvious to everyone involved - even if you didn't know about it, you'd learn damn fast from doing it automatically.

It seems to me that, rather then making it automatic, it would be better to have an overhead indicator showing that the player was in need of ammo. After all, you try to stay out of the way of other players in general, and the last thing that someone who is low on ammo needs is to try to tell someone that they need ammo.

We need a record function, or is it there? i cant find it, the command isnt /record demoname, if there is a command, please tell it to me. It is really necessary and helpfull, because without a record/demo function no online ladder will support sauerbraten. For example the electronic sports league (www.esl.eu) is a international online leage, i think the biggest and best nown european leage. This leage supports 2 cube ladders, but no cube2 ladder :(. With the record feature there would be a ways greater chance to join the leage.

There will never be a record demo function like there was in Cube in Sauerbraten. Aardappel said it couldn't be done without at least some extreme amount of coding or something like that.

Just use Fraps or another screen recording program. If you want to make demos of your clan, use Fraps to do it, then put the video on YouTube. Its probably better to do it that way anyway.

I think a playermodel that changed with the gun/looked more human would be nice. The ogro just kinda seems weird to me for both reasons, considering this is "hardcore FPS".

How hard is it to make a multi selection of cubes possible? Let´s say I want to raise 4 corners around a tower. It would be nice to select all four corners with the SHIFT key to add to the selection. Possible? Or just possible with a motherlode of coding?

Ranks:Once you kill about i dont know 50 people you go up a rank.Upgrades:Once you kill a sertain amount of people with a sertain weapon it gets upgraded such as rocket launcher-homing rocket launcher

And ranked servers for the experts that want to be ranked.

C for make you crouch is needed.

More monsters types.

Better AI.

Bot deathmatch mod on sauerbraten by default.

Be able to change your appearance among the monsters who have the same size than the ogros.

A menu where you cant continu to play when you open it, And which is not transparent, And takes all the screen place !!!

More blood.

Weapons appears less random, and in a real order like in actioncube ...
Weapon 1 = Pistol
Weapon 2 = Shotgun
Weapon 3 = Rifle
Weapon 4 = Grenade Launcher
Weapon 5 = Rocket Launcher
Weapon 6 = Machinegun
Example : If you have Rifle :
Scroll down = Shotgun, and Scroll up = Grenade Launcher.

At least 4 weapons more.

I've noticed that anyone requesting features in this thread generally have poorer english skills. So it makes it harder to read the requests that fifty thousand people have suggested before. No wonder this thread isn't taken seriously..
