Please post your bug reports in here.
With your bug report, please submit the following information:
1) OS: Your operating system, i.e. Linux, Windows, or otherwise and what version you are using.
2) 3D card: The 3D card you are using. If you do not know, this is printed on the "Renderer:" line in the console when Sauerbraten starts up.
3) The edition of Sauerbraten you are using, i.e. Assassin edition, CVS as of a particular date, or otherwise.
4) Error information: If you are on Windows, a pop-up message showing filenames and line numbers should show up when Sauerbraten crashes; if possible, post a screenshot or a copy/paste of this. If on Linux, post a log of the startup info from the console, including relevant errors or any info you might have discovered. If on MacOS X, please post the crash log if applicable.
5) A description of the problem and how to reproduce it. Please give as much detail as possible on how someone can recreate the problem, in as certain terms as you can. If someone else can't reproduce the problem, it is unlikely he can fix it or tell you what is wrong.

#1181: sdl2 upgrade causes beeps |
by 101010
on 01/15/2023 21:57
|
|
On linux (archlinux, 2020 version) an upgrade of sdl2 from 2.24.2 to 2.26.0 causes beep artifacts when flagdrop.wav is played, the bug was confirmed by two other archlinux user. On a downgrade of sdl2 the artifact beeps don't occur. I could pin it down to the file having a sample rate of 44100Hz, converting it to 22050Hz fixed it. So an easy fix could be simply down sampling those files:
./packages/sounds/ctf/flagdrop.wav
./packages/sounds/awesund/cg2.wav
./packages/sounds/awesund/cg2_full.wav

#1182: Sounds missing after sdl2 upgrade |

I'm running sauerbraten on archlinux. After upgrading sdl2_mixer package to version 2.6.3-2, there are no more shot and portal sounds. Downgrading sdl2_mixer to previous version 2.6.3-1 fix the problem. I tried on a second computer running archlinux as well and had the same issue.

#1183: Visual artifacting/grafical tearing |
by LETomppa
on 10/12/2023 19:38
|
|
1)
Operating system: Windows 11
2)
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080
3)
Version: Sauerbraten (2020 Edition)
4)
Error information: No error messages
5)
Description: From the menu, you first select multiplayer, and go to a multiplayer game (I went to CTF). Then you leave immediately back to the main menu. After this you go to the campaign mode. This loads the world with your gun in hand, but out of the map and you experience this visual artifacting/graphical tearing. Almost like in solitaire when you win a game and the screen fills with ghost renders. The character dies shortly after this and then respawns and the game works normally after this.

#1184: Maps do not save on Win64 |
by mitras1
on 12/31/2023 08:39
|
|
Yesterday I saved a map and went to bed. Today I tried to open my map, but it said map cannot be found. I opened 'packages/base' folder in file manager and there was no map. I created a new map, saved it, but the error happened again. I tried to run the game as an Administrator, but it said "bin64/sauerbraten.exe" cannot be found. What should I do?
