PLAYSTATION 3 Support?

This is just a general idea.. but it seems that the guys at ProperGames were successful at porting the Cube 2 engine to both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for the new "Flock" game they're making (at least I think it's based on Cube 2..

So I guess my point is this.. I'd love seeing Sauerbraten on the consoles. It's a truly great game and I think it would be pushed in popularity a ton if it was released for either the 360 or PS3. PS3 would be especially easy (at least I think it would) since it uses OpenGL and has a PPC based processor.

As far as Sony giving what is needed to compile the game for PS3, this is where I think there is a brick wall. Someone needs to convince Sony to allow a Sauerbraten build onto the PLAYSTATION Store :-P

Well, it's a good thing that the highest resolution in the HDTV standards is 1080p

well do you own a Hdtv that supports that ?

Am I the only one here who doesn't even own a conventional TV set? (I just use an aging video capture device to shunt my consoles onto my even older 1280x1024 flatscreen... it's not quite as large as a normal TV, but close enough, and I can use the monitor for, you know, productive stuff too).

I'd be doing the same if my stupid card would work under Linux. >_<
Last I checked, the drivers only supported digital input, and the only digital input I have is cable TV, which is scrambled (stupid Comcast).

James007: I'm kind of afraid of what those "new fans" would be like...

btw sauerbraten on the ps3 is a pipe Dream AND there will not be one I can tell you that much not unless you wanna spead Unreal amounts of $$$$ and Ungodly amounts of time lol

Not the case if the will is there. We performed the PS3 port of our (heavily) modified version of Sauerbraten in 4 weeks with a 3 man coding team. Not 100% there, but 99% of the way there in that timescale.

I suspect that starting with the current codebase (ours is based on the version from about May 2006), the port could be done quicker.
