by Drakas on 10/06/2007 13:51, 33 messages, last message: 10/24/2007 20:49, 3598 views, last view: 05/04/2024 23:45

Ten minutes of gameplay is nothing like two hours of fragging!

http://drakas.woop.us/tmp/fest-oct.jpg

The highly successful Woop clan's fragfest is coming this October!

Sauerbraten games will happen on Sunday, the 21st October:
Australian games - 19:00 Australian Eastern Standard Time (UTC +1000)
European games - 19:00 British Summer Time (UTC +0100)
American games - 19:00 Mountain Time Zone

We will have a number of server that will be limited to 24 people.

We will announce the server names on IRC (#woop-clan @ irc.gamesurge.net). Anyone is welcome - no matter what skill or clan - as long as your ping is fine!

Thank You!
See you there!

And everyone participating in the fragfest gets to log onto the server and karaoke... erm... chat with each other during game?

And I was indeed joking about the karaoke part.

God I hope nobody's that dumb when it's fragtime. It's still scheduled for the 21st, right?

My ping sucks balls sometimes by the way, but I don't think it matters much, I still get my butt shot off ten times a minute :(

Oh, if I were participating, I'd do the karaoke for sure.

But 10 PM on a Sunday is no good for me. Saturday afternoons are better.

Update: http://woop.us/fest :

The servers will be announced on the IRC channel (http://woop.us/talk ). If you are not interested in IRC, then the Wars (http://woop.us/wars ) page will list the servers - pick the first of the game's geographical location. However, there's an exception for US games - we will use European servers instead.

Fests were awesome, I turned up for the AC and Sauerbraten Australian fests and they were great fun. Big congratulations to Drakas, dazza and anyone else involved in setting up the fests, you did an excellent job.

Hope you all had fun at your respective fests, hopefully the next ones are in the holidays so I can turn up to the fests for Europe and America as well :D

Well, that imago is no more "AJAX" than what Drakas uses is. Both use dynamic DOM elements to show the full image, and with images, AJAX is simply 'img = new Image(); img.src = "file.jpg";'
;)

AJAX = Asynchronous JavaScript and XML. My script does not use that.
My script is very simplistic and kicks ass.

Any Debian/Ubuntu use can now experience the leetage of my gallery:
http://drakas.woop.us/galmaker-0.1.deb

I will have to update to make it more accessible than it already is and hopefully make a small nice product.

It's already more accessible than Imago simply because it does not rely entirely on JavaScript...

It works fine already - allows to create galleries very easily. In future, I may employ multiple directory structures to make it produce quick and easy results for more complex arrangements ;)

That's why I put AJAX into quotes. ;)
