This forum is quite nice its compact and everything but its not userfriendly.
The topics should be gategorized and there should be permament user accounts.
and the search function is hard :S
Could u start to use phpbb or some else forum management system. thx :S

JESUS!!! I´m still looking for a simple board on my own page and I thought I might use phpBB with some modifications. But the new version 3 is an overloaded piece of crap. Who needs all this junk??? Avatars, signatures, birthdays, board statistics, smileys here, buttons there and a total waste pf space at all. To modify it to my needs I have to clear out 70% of the code! The simple machines board looks ok but and I will give it a try but please let this forum here on Sauer as it is (maybe some improvements) but not any gadgets at all...

The search function will be improved a lot. Don't worry about that. I think everyone will like that.

I'll fix the refers to feature as well. There currently are some issues related to message numbering and deleted / censored posts that sometimes prevent it from working correctly.

We need also a way to get URLs to some posts. This way we can bookmark them, or send the URL to someone else.
To understand what I am talking about, answer me: how can I get an URL to *this* message? (of course, before it has been replied) Or an URL to some message in middle of a deep discussion?

I like this forum (and style of), and it seems silly to post bugs/hacks actually on the forum for any idiot to read... so can there be an obvious email address to send such information privately to the admin?

Yeah, we need it fixed, and we need an easy way of doing that. I don't want to need to hack the URL just to get a damn link. The URL does not even fit into *THIS* textarea.
Well, read the first half of message 6816 from this URL:
http://www.cubeengine.com/forum.php4?action=display_thread&thread_id=1&start=6794#36789
BTW, looking at that page source code I found why "#36789" does not work for me. It is because '<a name="36789">' is written inside a <TR> element, and this is forbidden. In addition, you don't even close the element with '</a>'
I guess you should make your forum validate:
http://validator.w3.org/
Also, you are not required (at least not nowadays) to use '<a name="something">', you can put "name" attribute (or "id" attribute) on any element.

Yeah, you see, the HTML is five years old, too. And back then, you were not required to close the <a name=""> - this is not XHTML.
But yeah, all that will be fixed.
