#5750: editing does'nt = cheating!

by sdfg7yefiogddr on 05/21/2006 20:24

we get a huge amount of n00bs coming along onto a server that just happens to be in coopedit mode and having a go at us for cheating. even if the players are deathmatching, using edit mode on a coop edit mode server is NOT cheating. they even come along to this forum and rant about cube "being full of cheaters"

soz for the rant but its really annoying.

Use the -f command line option to turn off shaders.

thanks for the quick response. although this brought the fps up from 2-3 to 15-20, it is still dead slow. any other suggestions? thanks!

ok, when i load the game it gives me a warning message in the dos box telling me to: use these: /floatvtx 0 /ati_texgen_bug 0

entering "/ati_texgen_bug 0" fixes the problem. is there any way to have this automatically entered so i dont have to enter it every time i load game? thanks!

ok, i guess i just put this in autoexec.cfg without the "/" and it works fine.... just FYI for anyone else who has this problem.

I think some autodetection code for these features will save you a lot of effort in the long run. :)

Would also save from 100 messages on these forums about slow performance in Sauerbraten. Like 10 people have asked the question already.

Why is Sauer so slow? I don't expect 200 fps, but, it usually sits below 10! It's on WinXP (SP2) on an emachines w3400... this isn't the only game that does this, either. KotOR did the same thing (which is odd, seing as I can play HL2 mods with HDR, even.)
