#13237: cubescript quine |
by Nixot

I decided to make a quine in cubescript. For those who don't know, a quine is a program that prints its own source code.
Type this into the Cube console:
alias quine [ concat "alias quine [" $quine "]; quine"; echo $s ]; quine

If you're mapping, use checkpoints.
If you're playing, no.

That won't print anything, and this isn't a quine.
Do you mean:
quine = [echo (format "quine = [%1]; quine" $quine)]; quine

#13242: Server options? |

Hey I am the host of the m00c0w clan server that generally has mostly coop edit at any given time. Anyway, I was wondering of any good known scripts or ways to do a little more on a personal server. I was hoping to maybe do a message that would pop up every once in awhile kind of like on garrys mod servers. This being said I just want people to be able to know how to get to our website and other general info maybe even to just show up just as they come in as a one time thing. Can anyone help with server tools?

You could use Hopmod, a server mod. I've never used it, but it looks like it's a modified binary that you can run as a server and send messages to people.
Here is the link: http://code.google.com/p/hopmod/

i prefer a quine that works for other commands and not only its self
quine2 = [if $numargs [echo (format "%1 = [%2]" $arg1 $@arg1)]]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quine_%28computing%29
"In computing, a quine is a computer program which produces a copy of its own source code as its only output."
"A quine takes no input. Allowing input would permit the source code to be fed to the program via the keyboard, opening the source file of the program, and similar mechanisms."
Now, enough arguing about stupid shit.

#13249: edittoggle in Justice |

I downloaded and installed the new version of Sauerbraten on my Ubuntu machine. Everything seems to work great except I can't start edit mode from single player mode.
When I press the "E" key it gives me the message "You must hold key to toggle editing ins single player modes".
I have checked my cfg files and they all have "E" configured for edittoggle. /edittoggle gives the same message as "E".
Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Thanks!

You will need to remove the old ~/.sauerbraten/config.cfg you have, which will allow some new default key binds to be set up.

Yes but you can use "echo" in the same way and simply substitute in the values, plus you can use more than nine variables.

#13255: Fan wiki |

I have built a wiki for Cube 2: Sauerbraten at http://sauerbraten.wikia.com/wiki/Cube_2:_Sauerbraten_Wiki.
It is not meant to replace the other wiki, but rather be a fan supported wiki about things in sauerbraten, like maps, weapons, player models, universe, etc.
I would like to recieve official recognition by the Sauerbraten community.
I love sauerbraten and want to make it better.
