#13199: Adding EvilTextures to the .cfg |
by newbeeditor

I really want to use the texturs in the eviltextures file. My main question is; I don't have the file "baseq3" Can I add the textures in the eviltextures file (which I do have)? And if I can, how do add them to the Textures gui in editting?
(I'll apologize in advance if you don't understand what I'm trying to say.)

#13201: SourceForge Project "Iron Fist" |

"Hello, and welcome to Iron Fist! This project is built as a hybrid of Blood Frontier. Its main goal is to be a bridge between Sauerbraten and Blood Frontier. I give total credit to those whos works I use, even if I create a derivitive of it."
While this person has not actually posted files yet, they do not seem like they understand that they can't use other people's work without consent. Just thought I'd bring this up in case someone wanted to take preemptive action.

#13202: Following Sauerbraten Development? |

What's the best way to follow Sauerbraten's development? I can't find a developer blog, and these forums, as well as those on Quadropolis, don't seem very active.

There are RSS feeds on the project page on Sourceforge: https://sourceforge.net/projects/sauerbraten/
And the CIA SVN commit RSS feed: http://cia.vc/stats/project/sauerbraten/.rss
Although for whatever reason, the CIA feed will randomly stop working in my reader (Akregator). Using the Coral Cache fixes this ( http://cia.vc.nyud.net/stats/project/sauerbraten/.rss ).

Providing a server is a public service you'd be providing.
I'm guessing you want to do something like a CTF-only server or something - you can't.

#13209: Unable to save a map ! |

When I try to save my new map on my computer, sauerbraten tells me that it's done (Map saved on packages/base/xxx.ogz), but actually there's nothing saved in this folder ! (and not even in my computer, I tryed to do a general research, without any results :( )
So, that's why I need some help. For your information, I'm using a Windows 7 x64.

hopmod allows you to specify what game modes the server should allow:

(yes, I know you were talking about the bundled server; just providing another option :-)

@Quin, according to the wiki I have to find a folder named "VirtualStore" which seems to be unexistant (Maybe an hide folder ?). Whatever, I couldn't find "easily" this folder, I'm not shure that it still exist (under that name, at least) on W7. Maybe I need a bit more explainations :x .
@Yoopers It's interesting, but quite away from my question ! x)
I'd like to be able to save my maps, before let choose what ppl whant to do with :p

Xepher, its a weird "bug", if you may call it, that when sauer is installed in program files to >not< save the maps where it should, in "packages/base" folder. Its always advised to install the game on your desktop (by me of course) to avoid this problem.

@Razgriz as usually, the right solution is often simple...
When I tryed to go in the VirtualStore folder, I read things about what an app can do, in the program folder and, apparently, they don't have a write acces in this folder, but if the program is correctly written on program files (and not in the virtual store which allows acces to a fake program file folder), when it tries to write in, nothing is done.
Installed in my desktop, it works perfectly well...
Thanks !
For the others, thanks too, even if the wiki wasn't a solution, if I came here to ask, it was because it wasn't enough !!
