One last thing when I was looking at the sauerbraten_unix script I noticed this at the end of it
"else
echo "Your platform does not have a pre-compiled Sauerbraten client."
echo "Please follow the following steps to build a native client:"
echo "1) Ensure you have the SDL, SDL-image, SDL-mixer, and OpenGL libraries installed."
echo "2) Change directory to src/ and type \"make install\"."
echo "3) If the build succeeds, return to this directory and run this script again."
exit 1
fi"

So as you can tell everything linked to SDL libraries, bottom line:
I installed SDL libraries... now it works fine. Thx for the help anyway.

Individual servers can ban clients without reason. The ban is cleared after a few hours or after the server becomes empty (whichever is first).

#12205: Flag Help |
by Zero-Zero-One

Hello, I am new here and in need of some assis. I am trying to make a CTF map, but I can't seem to make a 'grabbable' flag. Can someone tell me exactly how to put in the command for everything? I have looked at the Documentation and all and it tells me:
"flag" [Y] T Where Y is the camera Yaw and T is team (either 1 or 2). I put everything in for the Variables, but it doesn't work, it gives me "Unknown command: Flag". So all I would need is an example.
Thanks, and sorry if this is any trouble.

You should select the point on the geometry you want the flag to be and type the following into your console:
/newent flag T
where T is the team number (1 or 2)
The key problem I think you are having is that /newent is the command and flag is the entity.

#12210: Connecting to Friends on Multiplayer |

I'm currently trying to connect with a friend on multiplayer (we're sharing connection with a router at the moment). We tried to search for each other on the server list, but we cannot find each other.
Is there something we're overlooking? LAN also doesn't work. I had seen something about making a server, but I'm not "techy" enough to know how to do that.
Please excuse me if this is a noobie question as I am new to this game.

#12211: Ripples? |
by Razgriz

Are we going to be seeing ripple effects any time soon? I mean
Water: Ripple effect in diving, stepping on, shots, and water splash with different types for all 3 of them
Also light rays based on the ripples will make water more real looking
Lava: Ripple effect in diving, stepping on, shots, and lava splash and dark gray/black/white smoke with different types for all 3 of them
these are just my suggestions, but they could make water and lava more real
but i think they'll be a bit heavy for the game so i think if they ever get implemented they should have the option to turn them on/off

Try copy-paste of the server.bat, then add "-mlocalhost" (w/o quotes!) to the list of parameters - read: make the line:
bin\sauerbraten.exe -d -mlocalhost %*
You can also achieve the same result by modifying the startup-parameters of a link to that BAT - but with copy-paste you'll be sure to get it right, even as non-tech-savvy person (as u claim to be).
Once that server is running on one of your LAN machines the "search LAN"-menu-option will work, as will "/lanconnect" (again: no quotes - the "/" is the indicator for non-chat = cubescript-command)
HTH
Anyway - if you both connect to any online server it should work fine already - have you tried that?
Last remark: running a local server to be accessible via the WAN (=interwebs) is indeed a bit more tricky, as it involves port-forwarding.
Suggestion: http://cube.wikispaces.com for more help than your local-offline-docs-folder holds.
Enjoy.

have you tried anything .. if so, what - there's tons of messages in this forum alone discussing it .. so saying "you can't find anything" is tantamount to saying you didn't try .. please try and then tell us your exact issues .. it'll greatly enhance the possiblity of a helpful response!
Try running the server.bat (assuming you're on windows, see .. you didn't even tell us your OS) and be sure you know how to port-forward (see portforward.com) .. also : check the wiki.

Rewrite it but with subtle differences. You can pretty much copy it, but \"subtle differences\".
