Quick question. I've updated to trooper edition, and I added some stuff to autoexec.cfg through the GUI in the game, however I'd like to get this into the autoexec.cfg on another computer. I'm using a Mac and there's a file with that name within the game-data folder on the same level as config.cfg, but that file is empty. Where is the file located that I'm looking for. I did save what I had put there in the game btw.

Try your sauerbraten-home .. on windows it's somewhere inside "Program Files" - or just check your BAT for it .. failing all these options - search your harddrives for "autoexec.cfg" .. and make yourself a link to the container directory .. it'll be the place to go for downloaded maps (in coop), screenshots and demos .. plus it's the place to put all of your personal sauerbraten media - like maps you download from quadropolis or so.

Maybe the location of the home files on Mac should be added to the FAQ...
Also, the FAQ needs to be updated to talk about SVN.

So are the home files within the .app file in the Mac version then. That's where the packages and data folders are located. I can't seem to find anything related to sauerbraten outside of it besides old instals. I can't find the folder by doing a search for autoexec.cfg either.

autoexec.cfg may not exist without you creating it.
config.cfg, however, will.

#12070: Invisible Monsters?? |

I have a question about the new build. I just downloaded it and got it set up, and when I go to play with it (offline) I can't see the monsters that are shooting at me. I'm not sure what I have checked or unchecked that is resulting in that. I can see some blood spray if I get lucky and hit something but can't see what monster is where. Any tips on how to correct it would be appreciated. Thanks.

I know. I added some stuff to it within the tab in the options menu and saved it. The autoexec.cfg that's on the same level as the game date folder within the application doesn't have the changes I made though, which is making me think its somewhere else. The changes are still there in the game, and stuff I add to that file, doesn't effect the game.

Try turning off GPU skeletal animation, i.e. "/gpuskel 0".

is there any way to export the texture map with the .obj so you could use it in blender or 3dgs?
where is the code where i can change player velocity? (i believe it would be funner if you moved slower[u could actually hit something])

If you can't track down the run speed, you probably shouldn't be messing with. Have you considered playing at
/gamespeed 75
or something similar? That will effectively make you run slower.

macs: dunno, they're some home directory somewhere
Linux: ~/.sauerbraten (~ being your home, eg /home/hirato/)
Windows: in the installation folder, unless you use -q to run it, or microsoft does something silly to force the saved files elsewhere

C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data or ...\Local Settings, maybe. Somewhere under there.
Or, under Vista, C:\Users\... and then I don't know from there. I don't have any way to check right now, but look for directory names like AppData, Roaming, etc.
