hi! I want to set up a server with cube 1 on my mac to play cube on my Lan with two ipods. I have heard that I have to download the source code. I downloaded it but now... I think I have to make something like a .cfg file. Is there an application to run servers or sth. in the Terminal?

All pngs are compressed. It's a question of whether or not it is using a color palette (like the way that gif uses palettes).

Check to see if you have libSDL-image installed.

Also, try the AC forums/help instead, they are separate from this community.

Also, turn on outlines ("/outline 1" or default bind 7). That'll show you the actual triangles.

#12031: Regen Capture Map Problems |
by scax
on 04/26/2009 00:02
|
|
I'm working on a map and to make it good for regen capture I've inserted these lines into my .cfg file:
alias base_1 "the Computer Room"
alias base_2 "the Underwater Support Core"
alias base_3 "the Equipment Room"
alias base_4 "the Riverside"
alias base_5 "the Rooftop"
alias base_6 "the Particle Accelerator"
base_1 [1]
base_2 [1]
base_3 [1]
base_4 [1]
base_5 [1]
base_6 [1]
When I went back into my map after putting these into the .cfg it said "unknown command: the". I look in other .cfgs of maps like Hallo and C-egypt where they renamed bases and alias base_# "name" is the format they used so I'm perplexed.
Also the bases aren't all shotguns so basically this game isn't accepting any of the commands I set.
Can anyone with some experience in this tell me what the problem is?

`base_1 [1]` tries to execute 'base_1', so it's like typing `/the Computer Room` -> you don't need those lines, only the alias definitions. The ammo used is determined by the entity attribute, not anything in the config.

#12033: .ogz converter? |

is there any way to convert a .ogz cube map file to a .mdl or some other file managable by blender or 3dGameStudio?
if not, you know Cube could be a pretty amazing level editor for making proffesional games. it would be epic.

cube2 can export its map as .obj(Maya) by:
1) start Sauer
2) /map somemap
3) /writeobj somemap
you'll see a shiny 'somemap.obj' in the sauerbraten top directory.

Seconded !
Can we have one with a limit to the damage, so that we can have areas which only injure the player ? (ideally the damage-so-far would be preserved across adjacent damage areas)
