#11507: Can't get sauerbraten to start |
by lunatech
on 12/15/2008 15:01
|
|
This may have been asked before, but I can't find the answer. My problem is when I start Sauerbraten, a black screen pops up for a second and goes away. I opened a command prompt screen and tried to start it in there so I can see the error message. The message is "the system cannot execute the specified program". I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but it's still no good. Any help would be great. BTW, I'm running Window XP home.
Thanks,
Jeff

Try not installing to a directory with a space in the path.

depends on your OS... May be easier to do this at the driver level.

http://sauerbraten.org/docs/config.html#command_line_options
just make sure UDP ports 28785 and 28786 are forwarded, and run server.bat, or the linux_server binary in bin_unix
the rest is in the linked document

No, the quotation marks are fine, and you need them if you want spaces.

"Crack"? This is an open-source game...
If you want to use software rendering, uninstall your graphics drivers.

Hi there!
I'm trying to make the character run slower for my map to a more realistic speed. Is there a variable I can change? I haven't found any information related to this.
Thanks.

If you're talking about a singleplayer map, you can play with /gamespeed. Otherwise, no.

Thanks for the response.
In single player, there is no way to just make the character walk slower? I'd rather not slow the whole game down.
