#11366: md5 Export Script in Blender

by hotmitts on 10/19/2008 15:51

dumbo question here - I have the import/export MD5 Scripts for the latest Blender, I just don't know where to put them or how to make Blender see them.

Earlier Blender versions had a folder called 'scripts' inside the application folder, the latest doesn't...anybody here help?
Thanks in advance

#11368: Freezeframe mod?

by Somerse on 10/19/2008 17:33

I've found a script that can be used to slow down gameplay in Sauerbraten by pressing a button. But I wanted to continue the time control theme so that if you shoot your enemy with a pistol and/or sniper, they freeze for a certain amount of time. They have a mod called freezetag, but I can't figure out how to use that to my advantage. It would be appreciated if someone could help. Thanks in advance.

#11372: Server/master

by nick34 on 10/20/2008 22:17

I use a Mac, and whenever I try to make a server, it says to check my firewall settings. I allowed Sauerbraten to go though, but I still ,cant..... And also, what is the command to claim master?

I'm quite surprised that none of us have found this before: Mr Ramsoomair linked to this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aGDCE6Nrz0 and I think it's clear which direction we need to be going. :D

The future of gaming comes now!

I wouldn't have noticed it because I generally skip the news in favor of the comics. Often much more interesting and funny.

Anyway, I thought those things you're supposed to pick up looked freakishly similar to respawn points. Hmm. :P

Cube!!

#11376: Simple question - multiplayer server for 2

by Snoopy on 10/21/2008 10:38

Hi guys,

Simple problem...

Two people with ADSL internet access in different locations, want to set up a simple game between us. Fixed IP\'s. How do you setup a local server and get the other person\'s copy of Sauerbraten to find it, without connecting to any of the existing listed game servers?

Thanks!

/connect your.friends.ip

And start a server using the server script in the sauer folder (server.bat on win)

#11378: location of custom maps

by Guru_Sev on 10/21/2008 21:49

After building a custom map, i tried to send the file to a friend so we could play it on my server. However, it could not send. I went into the base directory so that I could manually send him the file, but it isn't there. I can load it in-game, but there is no file in the directory. Could someone please help me out? I spent a lot of time making this map.

I'm afraid I don't know what that means.

I looked in
C:/Program Files/Sauerbraten/packages/base

Is that right?

Thanks a bunch.

#11385: Sauerbraten verts/indices

by moe on 10/23/2008 17:30

I am trying to understand how the engine works for a custom mod.

I did a /writeobj of a default size 10 map with a single leaf cube extracted.

Here\'s a screenshot:

<a href=\"http://imageshack.us\"><img src=\"http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/4687/sauerquestionha5.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Image Hosted by ImageShack.us\"/></a><br/><a href=\"http://g.imageshack.us/img508/sauerquestionha5.jpg/1/\"><img src=\"http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/sauerquestionha5.jpg/1/w960.png\" border=\"0\"></a>

here\'s the /writeobj dump:

The output after this point confuses me.

What is confusing me is the vertexes with a z position that appear to be out of range (9216) and also the lack of indices for the leaf cube. The indices ranging from at 8 to 15 is confusing as well. Can someone clear this up? Thanks in advance.
