If you're just taking screenshots in editmode, change the gamespeed to 10 once you're in position. Leave editmode, take the shot (after everything is cleared/particles are populated), pop back into editmode. Fairly simple, works fairly well.

Why not just pick a spot in editmode, pause (default key F1), turn off editmode, take the screenshot? When it's paused, you don't have to worry about doing it before you start dropping (even if at a low speed).
Only drawback is that if you stop editing while paused, it still draws sparklies (though this can be easily fixed bu looking away before pausing.)

Does it populate particles while paused? I can't remember...

Do you think my graphic card is dieing?

Strange enough: 61 degrees celsius, no overclocking, cleaned the computer's insides two weeks ago... and THIS appears today.

No artefacts in Cube. Just Sauerbraten.

No, I don't think it would...
Didn't even occur to me; I've modded the source so particles are rendered in editmode. :P

Max of S2D: it looks like it's associated with the bumpmaps... (or maybe your ironsnout/mrfixit couldn't hold it any longer :P). Try messing with your graphics settings. (And make sure that texture hasn't been corrupted.)

#11211: Another Sauerbraten Article

www.linux.com wrote what I believe to be a pretty good article about Sauerbraten today. You should see for yourself here at

I changed the nvidia_texgen_bug to 1 and these things are away...

However, when I try to enable fullscreenshaders such as black and white, the game freezes for 10 seconds and it then comes in. The bloom fullscreenshader is messed up, too. No choppy framerate at all, though (above 80 fps all the time)

I hate that the author turned ALL visual effects off but then complained that it's "lacking in the graphics department." People are going to assume the graphics of the screenshots he provided are as good as it gets.

I noticed that the screens were pretty poor too. Maybe we should email him some better ones, in a friendly "hey I think these would be more true to the game" kind of way?

#11215: Co-Op

Is there anyway to play Co-op with monsters?

Short answer, no. Long answer, yes - if you're willing to code.

#11217: poor fps

by Erabhin on 08/28/2008 00:06

Hi I recently installed saurebreten on a windows xp machine. I get a terrible framerate (in the range of .5-2 fps) to the degree that it's unplayable. I tried lowering the gfx and res options down all the way and it seemed to have no effect on fps. This computer should be able to handle saurebreten, as I have had it work just fine in the past

Do you mean cheats or secrets? If you mean cheats, try Google searching: sauerbraten cheats; if secrets: sauerbraten secrets

I don't know what you mean by secrets...Commands? If so, search 'sauerbraten command reference' on Google and click on the first one.

Please don't help people find cheats, it is contrary to the community's best interests to have a heap of cheaters online.
