#10993: Re: Q: How to make explosive barel?

by jbuk2k7s cookie has gone on 07/22/2008 17:21, refers to #10992

Yes, but I presume that he was making mapmodels rather than actual barrel ents, so I pointed to the docs for barrel ents.

#10995: IRC Ban?

by c0rdawg on 07/23/2008 08:49

Hey, I've been away for a few days and now when I try to join #sauerbraten it says that I am banned... Um anyone know why? It would be nice if I could get unbanned...

if you're in an area called rochester, or if your name mask matches *.rochester.res.rr.com, then please slap blahville

@jbuk2k7s yep I was putting mapmodels and then I saw that they have to be ents. ^^
Too bad for the brush though cuz with a brush is easier to paint textures on the terrain. Like grass, rocks, dirt etc.

#10998: Q: Why is my Heightmap brush not working?

by drebenK on 07/23/2008 13:44

Sry for the double post but there is no Edit msg thing on the forums.
So my problem is that when I press H the heightmap thing is not working. It's strange since it worked fine till yesterday. Now I open my map with /map mapname. I press the H key so that the square becomes green. I select a brush with the B+scroll mouse wheel but when I start to scroll the wheel on the map the terrain stais flat there is no transformation. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

I just logged on to Sauerbraten today and my cursor seems to have vanished. So has the chat screen. I wasn't messing around with the preferences, so I don't know how to get these back.

Help? Thanks!

Just wanted to remark that milkshape now does support vertex weights and that you might want to update your wiki:

#11003: ctf edition's config.cfg file nowhere to be found (ubuntu)

by mice on 07/23/2008 22:31

i just downloaded the tar.bz2 file from the sauerbraten website, unpacked and played for a bit... but when i exited, i couldn't find the config.cfg file anywhere (apparently it's not even on my hard disk).

now, i'm not too linux savvy, but i know enough about sauerbraten, and the config.cfg file should be in the 'data' folder. when i relaunch sauerbraten, my settings are saved, but theres still no config file

You shouldn't be editing it anyway.

Put anything you want to change in the config in autoexec.cfg instead (in ~/.sauerbraten also).

#11008: Q: About a command

by drebenK on 07/25/2008 16:00

Hey guys what was the command that allows me to edit an entety? I mean I typed a command with which I was able to put the numbers for map model and the HP for the barrel but I forgot it.
So can anybody type me that command?

@SheeEttin thanks mate it was this part:

/entset type value1 value2 value3 value4

BTW is there a way to rotate the mapmodels or ents acording to the Y or Z axis? Right now when I put a model or an ent I can only rotate it acording the X axis (with holding R and the mouse scroll). No matter which side I select with the mouse when I rotate the model it only rotates acording to the X axis so is there a way to rotate it acording the other two axis?

Use the "PERIOD" key. Or editbind some other key with selentedit.

This will open the command line with /entset + the values of the selected ent. So you don't have to rewrite all the values.

You would need to write a .cfg for the model that changes its mdlpitch and/or mdlyaw so it is not something you can dynamically change in game.
