#10911: Re: Mac Server

by SanHolo on 07/13/2008 20:08, refers to #10910

Start the Sauerbraten Launcher. Select the "Server" Tab. Enter a name and other variables. Hit "Start". Done.

Make sure you forward (or trigger) ports 28765 and 28766 from your Router to your Mac. This is done in the Settings of the Router.

#10914: Where are the SDL frameworks?

by Titanic12ship on 07/13/2008 23:03

Hello, I have had this question for awhile now:

To compile and play Sauerbrten's CVS, you need SDL frameworks, but the releases don't include these. So why does CVS require them and releases don't, or are they just hidden somewhere?

#10921: soundbug

by Soundbug on 07/15/2008 11:38

Hi

Does anyone else experience sometimes short stall in the game when a new song is loaded?
(I am using the linux version).

Maybe a option could be added to preload the songs?

thx

Not possible, SDL mixer streams music on demand. Only samples may be precached due to their smaller size.

#10923: Minimal Requiments

by Dima on 07/15/2008 18:32

How much is minimal requiments in Sauerbraten? I try launch it on Linux with PC Pentuim 3 1Ghz, 512 MB RAM and GeForce 2 GTS/Pro and i got 1 fps. Probably problem in my video drivers. Right?

--> With the exception of AA and anisotropic filtering. I'm sure it would still have decent FPS with those, though.

#10930: performance

by Osbios on 07/16/2008 16:03

All settings on max (AA and anisotropic filter on 16) I still have good framerate on my Geforce 9600 GT. And that is just a modern middle-class card.

But without shaders you still get good performance even with old cards like the FX serie.

Perhaps runing /genpvs over some of the old maps would help the low-end hardware.
