Just encountered this symptom myself, though I don't know if the cause was the same.

I was happily flying around, building a map, when the game drops to a very slow speed. I am confused for a few seconds, until it returns to normal speed. I did nothing to affect the gamespeed.
In the system log, I see this little line:

06/24/2008 06:15:44 PM sheeettin-kubuntu kernel [ 5895.929737] Clocksource tsc unstable (delta = 4686698527 ns)

For a computer, 4.7 seconds is a rather large leap...

#10761: Help! Server List Freezes Computer

Alright, so I updated Sauerbraten to CTF edition(Windows XP Media Center edition computer, ran Assasin Edition fine).

The game starts, and single player works perfectly. HOWEVER! I try to go to multiplayer, and it loads a big long list, and says \\\\\\\"Waiting For Reply from Server\\\\\\\" for all of the entries. After several seconds, my entire computer seems to freeze up, and I end up needing to use the power button to force it to reboot.

Help, please?

While in the IRC channel for servers {QS1} and {QS2} which reports chat logs from the server, I saw Titanic12ship say he crashed some server. Maybe it's him?

Hi!

In latest releases of Sauerbraten someone fixed that you can make light out of sky box. Now it don't works. When i do it and do calclight it don't see that light entity that is ouf of skybox. Please make it supported because its very useful.

im running 64bit ubuntu, and am not sure how to install it, esp. over the previous version. i installed it last via the synaptics, but doing that again would mean it would have to be up to date in synaptics, and i would have to uninstall THEN installl ctf version, most likely erasing things such as binds, etc.
