#10730: Re: Admins and Masters

by JadeMatrix on 06/23/2008 19:08, refers to #10728

A master can be anyone on the server. It is a player with the ability to kick and spectate/unspec other players, as well as force map changes, switch servers between O/L/P.

An admin has direct control over the server, and might not be the master or even a player. They can usually shut down the server, ban players (ip's), and (as I've noticed sometimes on TC servers) work in server-side anti-cheating software.

Basically master:game::admin:server.

Yes, any mouse will do, I use a standard microsoft mouse with my mac - nice and cheap and quite compfy, I\'ve always hated apple mice - just about their only thing I do hate.

Just what I use, it works for me. There are no mac-specific mice, just that that company happens to support Macs.

An admin can also usurp master status from the current master (if there is one).

Wait isn't kick the same as ban?

Nope. Kick=until the server empties, or /clearbans (i think), done by master in-game. Ban=until unbanned, done by admin.

A kick is for four hours or until the server is empty or a master /clearbans.

Admin owns the server, master is any random person.

Is this an AC question?

Select where you want the ammo to be, then press escape, go to editing, then go to ents. The different ammos are there I think. Otherwise you could use the console to type "/newent [ammo]". The different ammos are (I think, this is from memory) shells, rockets, grenades, riflerounds, bullets, and cartridges. Bullets are for chaingun, cartridges are for the pistol.

#10746: View bob when strafing

by Fyren on 06/24/2008 09:54

It\'s probably been asked before, but I can\'t seem to find it with the search: how do you turn off the view bob that happens when strafing? Thanks.

I was going to add a remark like that but I doubt he could have found it searching with the words "view bobbing" or anything similar.
