Please post your bug reports in here.
With your bug report, please submit the following information:
1) OS: Your operating system, i.e. Linux, Windows, or otherwise and what version you are using.
2) 3D card: The 3D card you are using. If you do not know, this is printed on the "Renderer:" line in the console when Sauerbraten starts up.
3) The edition of Sauerbraten you are using, i.e. Assassin edition, CVS as of a particular date, or otherwise.
4) Error information: If you are on Windows, a pop-up message showing filenames and line numbers should show up when Sauerbraten crashes; if possible, post a screenshot or a copy/paste of this. If on Linux, post a log of the startup info from the console, including relevant errors or any info you might have discovered. If on MacOS X, please post the crash log if applicable.
5) A description of the problem and how to reproduce it. Please give as much detail as possible on how someone can recreate the problem, in as certain terms as you can. If someone else can't reproduce the problem, it is unlikely he can fix it or tell you what is wrong.

My username, model, crosshair, gfx settings, key layout, all of it.
Is this a know problem?

#562: Justice edition crashes on exit |

OS: Mac OS X 10.6.4
Gfx: ATI Radeon HD 4670 OpenGL
Sauer: Justice
Crash log: http://pastebin.com/uuATTQz7
Error description:
Sauer crashes on exiting the game. No anomalies in-game. This only happens when I actually connect to a server and play, it does not crash when I merely start up the game and then quit again. In some cases it does not crash even when I have been playing (I'd say 75% crash 25% non-crash); I have not been able to identify a pattern to this yet.

specularity is one or two mipmap levels off from normal and diffuse resolution, causing severe artifacting on textures with specularity
Here's a pic where I turned off al the filtering and the difference should be very clear:

What else do expect when you turn off all the filtering? It's there for a reason..

Filtering artifacts are simply more apparent in the specular lighting because of the way filtering/blocking affects normal maps, especially if DXT compression happens to be getting used for that texture. It's not that it's accessing different mip-levels, as there is no code in Sauer to do such a thing.

"What else do expect when you turn off all the filtering? It's there for a reason.."
I just turned it off so you could see the mip transitions easier.
It was still highly noticable with bilinear, trilinear and 8x anisotropic filtering enabled. in fact the only major visble difference is the seam caused by the abscense of trilinear filtering.
I wonder then what causes the pixelation in the specularity? It renders the textures almost useless.

Due to the size of the texture (1024x1024), DXT compression is being used on it - which is the default texcompress variable value. DXT compression can occasionally cause some really bad blocking artifacts on normal maps, but that's the price of big textures...

.ogz files are not saved in the bases folder for the Mac (OS X). If they are, they are completely invisible.

We're looking into it, but currently are unable to reproduce the crash on our machines...
Meanwhile, please ensure you push the [send crash report to apple] button when the crash dialog appears.
