I found a way to make Microsoft Sam (the windows' synth voice) say "Aardappel, Eihrul"

If you want to try :

Control Panel -> Voices (the rest is obvious)

and use this

HARD APPLE ... ... ... HE RULE

that was the entertainment of the day.

Yes but, 4 months ago i dindt have the problems of framebuffer and nvidia texgen.

Lower the screen res. Try -w800 -h600 or if still necessary, -w640 -h480 on the command-line. Or if really necessary, -w320 -h240 -a4 (really low res with anti-aliasing).

I've gotten myself all confused on which axis is which. :(

Given d=z,
The z-axis is in-game up/down, the x axis passes through 0 and 180 degrees and the y axis passes through 90 and 270, right?

'cause if that's right, then I'm right, which would be nice.

hi freaks, i got sauerbraten running on my gentoo system (intel core2duo 6400, ati x1950, 2g of ram), it normaly runns very fast on high resolution (about 190fps), but when starting a single player game, fps goes down to 20-30fps. another problem is sometimes the game freezes and i have to reset my machine, everytime i exit the game machine freezes also.

OMG!!!! Im sorry but this is horrid. Its like beyond words.

no lights

same 3 textures on each map

No sloped blocks (that i remember, definatly not good use of them)

Thetown's skybox didnt even load

the single player map had no spawn points for monsters and way too many gun spaws

Not creative names or layouts

Horrid for Multiplayer as you can just spawnrape the other players

Maps are too large for multiplayer and are very very barren

The huge pits are really annoying




Just about everything on this maps was flawed or badly designed. Have you even looked at any other maps other players are submitting?


I know i shouldnt say anything if i dont have somthing nice to say but come on.

your complex doesn't have any complexity :p

Do you know anything on how to make a "good" map? Do you plan it, or just start and do what comes in mind while you mapping?

I think it is better to look at the maps that exists already, but you need to look at them in a spiecial way, not something like "oh, it's just a house". better look and say "ok, it's a house. It has round corners, a bed, three candels on a table, etc." you must look for more detail. I think that is also the reason why you use only a few textures...
