sauer in-game menus

does anyone know a way of changing the color or style of that green menu?

I know there are a command like "colormenu" but i've never found the way to change it. Have a color for each menu (red, editing, blue, multiplayer) would be nice !

Though the current release allows for you to even have colours in your team you should beware that aard didn't want this.

So - in some form or other - the possibilities for colourization will probably be reduced in future releases.

Although I really do feel we should keep them for the menus, if you get yourself the latest meATpaK (http://www.quadropolis.us/node/263) you can adapt the colour-coded-menus off there.

Actually it only really needs one character "^L" (also "\f" or FORMFEED (FF)) followed by 0,1,2 or 3 for one of the 4 official colours. 0 is green, 1 blue, 2 yellow/gold and 3 is red.

If someone were to create more user-friendly menus, could they submit a patch and see what the community thinks? Or is the development team sticking with what it is now?

You can scroll and click with the mouse, but you probably want a cursor.

I´m working on some kind of Mod or special edition with a player model pack a rack of weapons and some other features. Dont want to hype it before the content creation is done but here´s a screenie of the menudesign so far.

thanks! I did not want to show this early stuff but the tread was right so I slapped it in. When enough content is created I will post some more info here and there. But I dont want to ring the big bell without anything. If we could play ideas instead of games... well thats another story. Horrible situation these days. I dont want to know how many kids are planning the next big MMPRPGWAEACLW game Massive Multiplayer RolePlay Game With Action Elements And Cool Looking Weapons).
No design document, no content creation plan. But hey everyone is doing it so I can do it to.
Ok let´s see what do I need.

- a cool idea
- a cool website
- 2 cool weapon renderings (maybe a HK MP5???)
- a render of a wooden crate

yeah thats it. That should do the trick...

Oh noes! I was working on a Sauerbraten frontend but it looks like someone is going to beat me to it :)

Very nice, amazing menu, nice logo and I like how the interface is set out.

I am the last person on the planet that can give you advice with that! It was just a screenshot right out of PS. I´m not a coder. I just create 2D 3D content and Audio. All I can code is ActionScript and PHP. With all the applications in mind that I use I will never find the time to learn programming on a high level base. It also was just a raw draft. I´m still tuning it and when the time comes I will try to find people that are a) serious and b) mature enough to finish something but before that I want to create every single pixel model texture.

So keep on with your stuff. I dont want to show how it HAS to look. This is just something created for my own taste. If people like it good, if not I dont mind.
The goal ist to put together something usefull and bound to the way of Cube. Simple and effective. So I will not waste any pixels on glowing stuff, overglossed aqua style gumdrop buttons or GI rendered interface elements. See it, understand it, use it! Thats the way it has to be.
