Problems with translation( not unicode? )

Encoding is UTF-8. Why sauerbraten not
supports an unicode? It will be so simple to translate it to other languages. I can translate it to Russian and Ukrainian for example.

P.S. It's too late because of my insomnia :)

it supports utf-8 in the engine, it just doesn't have russian character font rendering (go see data/newerchars.png).

To be able to support special characters, you will need to modify the source code.

rendertext.cpp is the thing you need to edit.. I think... I'm not a coder or anything really so meh

Oh and yeah, like Aardappel sorta said.. youll need to extend the size of the newerchars.png, add the russian characters, then modify the source code and add the bounding box thingos for these new characters, then theres something else you need to do to make it work (i think bindings and stuff.)

Youll also need to change alot of the source code so you can make alerts+messages appear in russian as well, you cant modify them with a cfg.

I am not a painter, I can't draw my own cyrillic font.
As I see, it needs to draw cyrillic font to newchars.png and newerchars.png, then get their coords and add them to rendertext.cpp to
short char_coords[94][3] = {...} like latin chars.

Please take note that characters é è ô (all accents) are not supported... It's unicode too ?
