Try -f to the target of the shortcut.

This topic is all over this forum...do a search. Otherwise, read the docs that are included with Sauerbraten.

in the "sauerbraten.bat" or what ever you use to start sauer edit the file and add the -f commandline and it disables shaders

With the new command line options, everyone getting low fps should try running at 16bpp while setting the z-buffer to 24 bits. This should get you some frames more without artefacts occuring.
This is especially for nvidia cards, since ati lets you set z-buffer independent of colour depth (with tweaking tools), nvidia doesn´t (it´ll set z-buffer back to 16 bit when you run 16-bit colours, ugly.)
Switching to 16-bit can get you quite a boost on certain cards.
oh and off course fsaa and anisotropic filter off, but you can set it in the driver settings as well.
