I think they would be loads of fun on the really big maps. We allready have a good semi auto rifle just add a scope.Why not?

i did not know about that and i just tryed it its not bad but i just think they should make it a bit more polished and the rifle should have a scope

this way you have zoom with every weapon regardless ... it's always the same.
Just think "Zeiss Quadrant CyberZoom-X-700"-implants ;-)

we have a sniper rocket launcher, sniper machinegun, sniper shotgun etc too. Are we ahead of you, or what.
They all lack scopes.

Maybe people would be happier if the crosshair changed depending on the FOV. Wouldn't be that hard to do, we already have a number of crosshairs from Death Illustrated and such, so it'd just be a matter of adding a simple script (preferably at the cfg level, so people can edit it to taste)

Technically the crosshair should be positioned near in space, and not on the gui. That would allow it to zoom with the rest of the scene. Currently, as part of the gui, it would be drawn at infinity if Sauer was run in a stereoscopic mode. Since it is visually in front of the target, but stereoscopically behind, this causes eyestrain and headaches.
So putting it in near-space with the hudguns instead of gui would kill two birds with one stone.

Put this in your "autoconf.cfg" and you can easily zoom with the right mousebutton:
bind "MOUSE2" [ oldfov = $fov; oldsens = $sensitivity; oldcross = $crosshairsize; fov 25; sensitivity 1; crosshairsize 40; onrelease [ fov $oldfov; sensitivity $oldsens; crosshairsize $oldcross ] ]

Nah, having a sniper rifle in cube sucks and the end of the day Cube is a Doom like game. Anyway there already is a rifle. I would sooner see a weapon simiar to Doom's BFG9000! Now THATS a weapon!!!! :D
