Would it be possible to take a cube map and convert it to a cube 2 map and play it in there, or do that the other way?
The reason is, whenever i try to add any entity in cube 2, the game crashes, so I would like to take a cube map and convert it to cube 2.
I would like to do it the other way, so i can play some maps that aren\'t in cube, but are in Cube 2.

Go into editing mode in Sauer. Type in the console "importcube nameofmap". Read the doc. in your sauerbraten folder for reference.

And no, you can't take Cube2 maps into Cube, seeing as Sauer's octree structure cannot be translated into Cube heightmap structure: it's simple impossible on every level imaginable.

Sauer outbeats Cube in every perspective. So yeah, no map from Sauer can make it into Cube. From what I see from Sauer is that their are more possibilites in mapping then there were in Cube.

Hey thanks! I will read the docs next time.
But something i tried worked!
After importing the cube map into cube 2, i can do a /savemap and it writes the new mapname.ogz file, and I can load it again without importcube!

yeah, that way you don't have to reimport every time, and in case you made any map edits that wouldn't be possible in the cgz format.

Yeah I noticed the lighting is kind of messed up with cube maps imported to cube 2.

For your own sake do not criticise these forums. Please. While it appears to be a featureless forum, its simple design is actually quite useful. Even the forum follows Cube and Sauerbraten's way of simple coding!
