ATI fglrx bug: firegl_FreeBuffer failed

Driver fglrx 8.25.18 on Radeon 9600XT has bug
which causes flood of error messages, which take megabytes of syslog

[fglrx:firegl_rmmap] *ERROR* map 0xdd9328b0 still in use (map_count=1)
[fglrx:firegl_free_buffer_queue] *ERROR* buffer qeue 0xdd9328a0 still mapped

Would it be possible to make workaround?

I had this on my x700 Pro, however the syslog flooding also occured with some things run under wine. The solution was buying an nVidia card, since its clear that ATI will not fix any of the myriad bugs in their Linux drivers. In short: not really a Sauerbraten bug.
