Hey,
I get the following error when I try to run the install script:
./bin_unix/linux_client: error while loading shared libraries: libSDL_image-1.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I made sure to make:
sauerbraten_unix
linux_client
linux_server
executable binaries.
Any thoughts?

Now go to http://www.google.com/ and type in "error while loading shared libraries: libSDL_image-1.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory":
http://www.google.com/search?q=error+while+loading+shared+libraries:+libSDL_image-1.2.so.0:+cannot+open+shared+object+file:+No+such+file+or+directory&sourceid=opera

Where are the strafe keys in Sauerbraten like strafeleft/straferight?
Ist there no such function? The docs give no info on this.

You need a better card to play sauerbraten on Linux, 9250 is old stuff.
My radeon 9800 pro 128MB works pretty much flawlessly on most of sauers maps.

Wow, you Linux users are prepared to spend more money on hardware just to use Linux? Doesn't that defeat the purpose? :P

Since when is having an excuse to spend more on hardware a *bad* thing?

That's the money to use an ATi card *on* Linux ;)
By the way, you don't spend £150 on Windoz and therefore can get a high end GPU ;)
I agree with Nicholas, yeah :)
I use Linux because it is open and free. I would still consider using if it was not open - there's so much stuff in this world ;)

Do you have the newest version?
I had some old version that used to run at 2 fps xD
But, when i downloaded the new one, it was over 100 fps.

Hi,
I just suggested Sauerbraten to my uncle, but he told me that whenever he tries to run the game it says \"no texture_env_combine extension!your video card is way too old\" . The card is not old at all!! it\'s an Nvidia Geforce fx 5700 le.
Anyone can help us out?

He needs to install nvidia's opengl drivers. He's probably running in software.

Eihrul,
Beign not really an expert in the subject, do you know where these drivers can be found? I googled for the opengl drivers but didn't find much help. Seems it's something for Linux but I need the instructions for WinXP.
Thkx again

All you need to do is join a multiplayer game, then press the "t" button on your keyboard and type the following: "/name <name>" (don't include the quotes) where <name> is actually the name you want to use.

No, within the game. When you're playing a game, hit "t" and do what he said.
