Umm, using the supplied make/build/xcode files.
- is there a specific difficulty?

At a first glance it looks to me like you're using the linux makefile and not the mingw makefile. The mingw makefile links against the apropriate libraries included to save people the difficult task of installing SDL for mingw.

Why spend so much time writing what looks like a really great game, only to ruin it by foregoing an installer? This game would have ten times the attention if it had a proper installer. What a shame.

Is there a way to run Cube without compiling the source?

Yes, it comes compiled. Versions you compile yourself will not work online.

I use Dev-C++ myself (a nice freeware IDE by Bloodshed Software), it has a handy vcproj import utility, but I do find I need to modify a few things.
eg;
#ifdef main
#undef main // damn SDL
#endif
There's other things too, but I like using and supporting free software, right down to my development.
