Having trouble compiling...

by SizeableSSonic on 04/22/2006 00:03, 15 messages, last message: 04/23/2006 00:36, 1085 views, last view: 05/01/2024 08:16

First, I want to know if sauer can be compiled with VC++2005 Express edition, Second, I created a Bloodshed Dev C++ project for the eninge, and added the source files by hand. I added the make file and libraries in the MingWing folder. when I attempted to compile, I got one error:
[Build Error] No rule to make target 'shared/tools.o',needed by 'client'. Stop.

Anybody know how fix that, or if Sauer can be compiled with VC++ 2005?

No, everything is there already. Just load the solution in src/vcpp/sauerbraten.sln and build it...

And I just tried to compile with VC++ 2005, and everything seemed to be compiling fine... but the failed because of some sort of external obj error or something...

That looks like the setup of your vc++ is wrong. Did you install the platform sdk correctly?

#12: Project files

by bjl667 on 04/22/2006 02:34

I got MSVC.NET (7.0 Version of IDE)
I can't load the project files for compiling. I could create new project files, but I dunno if any special optimizations are required for compile.

if you are having probs compiling with VC++2005 then it is DEFINENTLY a platform SDK problem if you loaded the .sln file correctly.

sorry i provided the wrong link in that post.. you need the platform SDK for windows XP sp2
