Hi
I have some problems with Cube. All sounds are like 2 seconds after they should be. I have a Realtek ALC 850 soundcard. Running Linux 2.6.16.
I also have problems with shutting down Cube. When I quit in the menu, cube freezes and I can\'t do anything. I have to change to another tty and kill Cube to be able to get back to my desktop.
I have a GeForce 6800GS and running xorg 7.
Please tell me if I should provide more info about my system. Thanks in advance.

It´s a sound demon issue.
I am not particulary a linux user, but I remember that.
Try diffrent sound demons, iirc it was something bout disabling alsa.

I noticed the sound delay too if I was using ALSA sound drivers. I switched to OSS sound drivers and the sound delay was gone.

I'm pretty sure this has to do with the nature of the AC97 drivers. You might try configuring your .asoundrc to allot a larger buffer, this solved the problem for me.

eihrul: How do I switch to OSS sound drivers?
rancor: I don't have a .asoundrc.

I don't know why, but I don't have the problems any more.
Thanks for your help anyway.

The file is pretty well expained in this: http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php?page=.asoundrc
The part thats likely to be useful are the buffer_size and period_size commands in the dmix example.
