yes it takes ridiculous amounts of memory, because it subdivides the world heavily before it remips. I will fix this one day. For now, use small maps or increase your virtual memory size :)

The current textfiles were saved in some linux format. You have to open it with something more advanced that bloq-notes.
Try wordpad or notepad++ (free program).

Simply copy everything below
texturereset
from the default_map_settings
to a mymapname.cfg
and replace textures there.

with /convertcube *map-name*

but you must place the cgz map in packages/cube .
And some textures will be different.

You have to make a .cfg to go with the map that specifies the mapmodels you want to use.

If you don't create a .cfg, you can only use the mapmodels supplied in data/default_map_settings.cfg.

it basically works the same way as cube does. add a YOURMAP.cfg into the folder wher YOURMAP.ogz is, and copy the texture bit from default_map_settings.cfg. Change what you like, go to your map and ta-da there ya go you should be able to use your perso textures

What must be the texture resolution ? 256*256 or 128*128 ?

256² spans across 8x8 cubes.
All textures must be powers of 2 or combinations of those.
like 256x128 or 128x64 for trims etc..
