Installing Sauerbraten on FC4?

Hi guys,

I would like to install Sauerbraten on Fedora Core 4, but it needs a version of libstdc++ I don't have.

Any ideas?

I have now installed fitting Mandrake RPMs... And it works... theoretically. Sauerbraten starts, shows the splash screen and then quits with the message:

Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)

Can you help me?

I'd uninstall that Mandrake RPM (that's not meant for your system) and go back to the official Cube distribution. If you need libstdc++.so.5 then install the gcc compat libraries from your fedora core 4 packages. (Under Software Development/Legacy Software development I think)

This package provides libstdc++.so.5:

All the crap thats in FC4, and it's missing libs?

Just install them...do a search on the net to find the libs you need...thats the price you pay for using linux.

OR, if you know how to compile ( if you don't why are you using linux? ), sauerbraten should compile no problem for you.

Well, I DO HAVE installed all the libs but I always get the error "Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)". So I would like to have a working version with SDL precompiled into the binary.

You would have known that if you read my posts above.

And by the way, I do know how to compile.
