Is there anyway to get your FPS up higher for windows? mine always starts at 29 and goes down which makes it very choppy. if you have any solutions then tell me

How is this the most suitable thread for that comment? Geez...

Whatever you are playing (Sauerbraten or Cube) then it is most likely you have a bad computer, maybe try lowering the resolution by modifying the .bat file.

yes, you can get intergrated graphics on a new computer though, and thats probably what you have.

Fragkilla, make sure antialiasing and anisotropic filtering in your card´s settings is turned off or 2x.
Those are the biggest performance killers (with a visual benefit that is neglegible for gaming).

ok i downloaded Sauerbraten to see if my PC ran better on it. But when i try to open the file it says "No texture_env_combine extension!()"

what does that mean and how do i fix it??

Tell what video card, or video chipset you are using...and driver version. Cannot help much without that info.

Might be a new computer, but if it cannot run cube and sauerbraten at a good framerate, it must not be very powerfull.

If you're running windowsXP-
from the start menu - control panel - system - hardware - device manager. Look at the list for a section named "Display Adaptors" and click the + next to it...that'll show you what video card and/or chipset you have.

If you double-click on the video card name, you can see the driver version it's running in the screen that pops up, just look for the Driver tab.

Sorry, maybe I was unclear...when I typed "tell what video card", I meant type the info in this forum, and maybe we could direct you to proper drivers, etc.

its not a new computer. cards that don't have texture_env_combine died out 5 years ago, even integrated ones.

Time to upgrade.

they are sauerbraten config files and have nothing to do with your gpu...

your gpu is TOO OLD to play sauerbraten. also TOO SLOW to play cube. there is NO POSSIBILITY your computer is 'new'. even sis intergrated chips from like 2 years ago can play sauerbraten 25fps+. you need to find your system specifications, if you bought your computer from a computer dealer or something then you should have documents with your system components. or try downloading 'cpu-z' and saving a html file of your specs then copying its contents and putting them here. get cpu-z here:

once you open cpu-z, go to the last tab labelled 'about' then click 'HTML report'. choose where to save your html report file. once it is saved, open it in your browser and copy its contents and paste it into this thread ok.
