ATI Bug!?

by Lorenz on 02/20/2006 16:30, 5 messages, last message: 03/18/2006 17:07, 1125 views, last view: 04/30/2024 07:57

Hi,

everytime I shoot a weapon, it looks like I fired it while standing in front of a wall...

If I shoot with the rocket launcher, I get damage like I would have shot at a wall in front of me.

This bug appears since I changed graphic cards.
First I had a Intel i810 onboard, now I have a ATI Radeon 7000.

I'm using Gentoo, Gnome, modular Xorg, Cube 20050829, mesa-6.4.2, and modXorg ATI drivers 6.5.7.3

Would be nice if somebody could help, I searched in the whole web but didn't find anything

Thanks,
Lorenz

First of all, make sure you have the latest drivers. If you do, you might need to try someone else's ATI drivers.

http://www.omegadrivers.net/

Get your driver here. Very good stuff and gives best performance.

1. I have the newest drivers. How do you mean that, try someone elses drivers?
2. I'm using Linux... omegadrivers are only for windows.

Now I found a thread in this forum, there's a workaround, but only the binary and a very old version. What do I have to do for getting this thing to work?

Thanks,
Lorenz

Will a workaround be released anywhen?

I tried all combinations between xorg and ati-drivers, but nothing helped.

Theres a workaround for a very, very old version, but it doesn't work - for the old and for the new version.

plz help,

Lorenz

install driconf and disable HyperZ boost for your ati. Worked for me with xorg \\\"radeon\\\" module
