making things more complex is always a good idea.

heh heh.

but you have to admit, moderators would be a nice function, we get an inordinate amount of spam here.

IMHO, images are only worth having if they're consistent, making a unified design. Since avatars and signatures and banners are by nature unique (well, they're supposed to be), then they can't fit into the unified design.

So I'm not a fan of having images and all. I would be a supporter of having the threads categorized, not just sticky and unsticky, but perhaps in Gameplay, Errors, Content, etc.

I am happy with this. Nice and clean. Who needs sigs and avatars.. never ever had any of those.

the only feature I REALLY want is a logon system. means I can login from any computer and I dont have to recreate my cookie.

Well, the forum _design_ is good, however my only complaints lie with the cookie-style account managment, and the fact that there aren't categories like other forums. Edit post would be good too, if you wanted to add, delete, or fix a stupid typo.

Could try the Invision boards. Not the free ones. I mean the I-Bulliten boards.

sweet ascii art pushplay. I'm surprised you managed to make it so legible, what with the font and no whitespacing.

and enigma is definately right- edit would be great. perhaps a system in which moderators can edit responses, which would mean we'ld all know when someone posts, but moderators can remove any trashy content. on second thought, nah, that'd be too much work.

nah, i can't read it either. what does it say? pushplay?

I will gladly change this to fit our cube forum needs http://www.provi.enhorse.com/forum/

As you can see its been collecting dust for quite some time. I never put this webspace to good use but now would be a great time for me to fix up the front page and stuff.

(call it a little jump start on things.. for once)

p.s. Im just trying to help, no flaming. ^_^

Unless you guys want it on this site which makes more sense to do, its up to Aard I guess.

Making a big annoying banner in varible-width ascii art is harder than it seems. :)

yes. a rather crafty depiction of pushplay. i'm not even going to try typing out tentus :P

ooh, a little thing that would be nice is an automatic removal of <a href=""></a> and such... a lot of newcomers don't realize there is no scripting or coding of any kind on our side of things.

heh, yeah.

I'm still voting for PhpBB2, but of course it is Aard's decision in the end, isn't it?

these forums are not going to be using any other software. This software is exactly as I want it, no clutter and easy to see which posts are new.

Whenever I get on other boards and I have to look a huge animated gifs in every posts indicating the bad-assed-ness level of the 14 year old in question, it makes me want to kill people.

Yes, this forum can be improved, simple moderation could be cool, ask sleepwalkr.

inline images could be great for screenshots, but really, I don't mind having to do a single click to look at them, if it avoids general image spam.

well i guess they serve their purpose.

the only things that would be good to 'add' to the current forums would be:

1. a post count function
2. a function where moderators can delete spam.
3. an edit post function

What do you mean by post count? Currently, total and new posts are tracked for each thread.

There is a moderation feature, but only aard and I have access to it. Simple moderation means what, exactly? Do you want to appoint certain people moderators and allow them to delete posts? That would be possible, I guess. But is there really that much spam here?

Editing of posts, I dunno. I personally don't like it.
